Chapter 1: The Outsider

First Part

Title: Reborn as the Vampire Lord Mate

Chapter One: Outsider

Today is my first day in high school. Yaah!!

I finally graduated from junior prison to a more advanced prison—which is high school. Yaah!!

Now, with a special gift: access to even more torturers. Yaah!!

Mind you, that “yaah!!” is not a happy one. I am far from being happy.

I’ve survived the torment of the Triple E—the triplet bullies of Monterori Middle School: Emily, Emilia, and Emiliana Burch. Why do they hate me? I still don’t know. Maybe I was too “outsider” for them.

Mimicking Emilia’s whiny voice:

“I get an ick anytime I see you. My sisters and I don’t like you. So stay out of our sight, filthy outsider.”

Just imagine a typical bully’s voice—high-pitched and fake sweet. That’s Emilia, alright. At this point, I’d actually prefer going back to their nonsense. Because at least I learned how to survive them. They had a playbook—even if it was written in evil.

Let me walk you through a few of their greatest hits:

Chewing gum in my hair. Had to cut my hair. Started wearing hoodies and scarves.

Red ink on my seat. Thought I was bleeding. Panic every day... until I wasn’t.

Glue on the seat. I nearly lost part of my butt.

Locked in the bathroom in winter after being drenched in freezing water. Almost died. No one even noticed I was missing. I slept there all night.

Only the janitor found me in the morning. That’s how I got saved. The punishment? Two-day suspension. (Spoiler: it was Saturday and Sunday.)

The only real thing I got was hush money. Mr. Burch handed me an envelope and said:

“I’ll give you this as long as you don’t sue my little girls.”

Little girls? More like little witches.

Anyway, thanks to my freakishly smart brain, I didn’t need the money. I wouldn’t have told anyone anyway. I had no one to tell. No friends. No family. I’m an orphan—left at the orphanage as a newborn. The only thing I was found with was a pearl stitched into my baby clothes. That’s how I got my name.
