Only read half of the book
"I was enjoying this book until I couldn't read any further. You can read til chapter 57 or 58 and then it's for subscribers only, which I didn't know, otherwise I wouldn't have started the book. With so many errors in the referring to she, he I'm not going to pay to finish this book Maybe fix the typos first? As English is not my first language, I sometimes had a hard time following, and had to re read a sentence a couple of times The storyline was great though, slow, but I wanted to keep reading. Too bad I can't finish, I really wanted to know what would happen with Elowyn 😒"
Enough is enough
"This story had a good premise, a girl promised to a cruel lord enlists her witch best friend to hide out in a boys martial academy to avoid her fate. The author kept making mistakes in the beginning, referring to the female lead as her, instead of the him she was pretending to be. It made following along tough for me as I kept losing who was speaking. It didn't change later on, I just got used to it and ignored it for the sake of the story. We are 125 chapters into a story that reads like a Robert Jordan novel, 1000 pages and nothing of consequence happens. We are supposed to be drawing close to an epic reveal, or confrontation, but I don't see that happening for another 75 chapters and that's too long for me. I'm rapidly losing interest in this ever finishing, because at this point I don't think it will. We're just going to keep going on and on into the sunset. Because of this I'm done. I no longer care if this ever finishes so this ends my participation. I'll check back in 2026 to see if it's been completed or not. To the author, nothing needs to be this long. I'd rather have seen a series of books that handled sections of this book, rather than one long War and Peace epic. Anything over 70 chapters means that you read it once and never again. It's simply too much to keep track of. There's still so much that has to happen to finish this story but my time isn't infinite, I'm moving on to other books. Good luck with the rest of it. 132 chapters now, I just got caught back up. The author changed the title mid write, then added a statement in the beginning, but before the summary, that told the reader what they would do when they read it...which is irritating at best. I now believe the author just wants this book done so she can move on to other books. The last several chapters are chock full of errors and plotholes. We are screaming towards an ending that I don't think she saw coming 10 chapters ago. The whole plotline of the book until the last couple of chapters indicated that Haspan had to get ahold of Elowyn to see his destiny come, but that didn't happen and yet his metamorphisis is happening. Way to destroy the main storyline author. In my honest opinion this book doesn't end well, it gets to a certain point and then stops. you will need to read the next book to see any conclusion to it. Wholly unsatisfying in my opinion. You can rename it anything you want to, it doesn't change the meandering pace of this book. "
