First thing I read on Inkitt. I don't think anything else has ever topped it.
"This is a different story, raw, strange, and good in all the best ways. It strikes like a fever dream composed of rust, bone, and electricity. This world is cruel and surreal, and the writing mirrors that perfectly: it's poetic but not flowery, brutal but not gratuitous. There's an odd cadence to the writing, as if it's being hammered into metal by something that hardly remembers being human. What is most remarkable is how intimate it feels sometimes, even when the tale dips into the absurd or the grotesque. You can tell that the writer has something on their mind about purpose, about identity, perhaps even about guilt. but it never lectures. It just kind of. seeps through the fringes of the story. It feels like a burial goods video. I think there are even a bunch of super obscure poetry references, such as the creepy poem, in the dessert. I remember reading that one back in high school, it made me feel a certain discomfort, just like this story. The build is crude in the best way possible. It doesn't take you by the hand. One minute you're wading in gore up to your knees, and the next you see someone break apart from the inside out. It gets under your skin, and if you let it, it rewards you with flashes of queasy beauty and shock value. There are sometimes very rare grammar errors and typos. They don't detract too much, but its worth noting that this feels a bit like a strong second draft. Hopefully, if the author reads this, he will keep it in mind to go over the story once it's done and iron out the kinks. It's not for everyone. if you prefer a no-frills action tale or something tidily presented in exposition, this isn't your book. But if you like fiction that bites and haunts and lingers long after you've put it down, it's well worth the leap."
