Chapter 1 a love beyond dying
The story starts in the evening. A couple—together for the last 7 to 8 years—are walking and talking in a park. They’ve known each other since school, where their love story began.
Flashback:
The boy had confessed his love to the girl back in 8th grade. Now, years later, both are adults. The boy works as a manager in a cyber company, and the girl works in a café. It was the weekend, and they were talking casually over WhatsApp and calls. Later that evening, around 8:00 PM, they were walking in the park and chatting like usual.
Suddenly, the boy remembered a dream he had recently.
In that dream, he and the girl were walking in the park just like this. As they exited the park, a white car hit him very hard—and he died on the spot. The girl screamed and cried. She called for help, and an ambulance came. But at the hospital, the doctors declared him dead.
Yet somehow, he woke up—not in the hospital, but in a completely different world. A voice spoke to him:
"You had many great moments in your life. I give you permission to see the girl you loved so much… but you cannot talk to her. You are now just a soul."
The next day, everything started again, but he didn’t know where he was. He saw his girlfriend, dressed in black, crying. He tried to speak to her, but she couldn’t see or hear him. This broke his heart—he thought she was crying because of him.
Days passed.
One day, she received a job interview letter—it was for a job at the same café where he used to work. She attended the interview, gave her best, and got the job. He was standing behind her during the interview but couldn’t congratulate her—because he no longer existed.
Over time, she became the café manager. But she also struggled. She was suffering from anxiety, depression, and self-hate. She missed her boyfriend deeply and couldn’t move on. This made the boy feel guilty. He thought she should find someone else and be happy.
But the truth was the opposite. She didn’t want anyone else. She lived with the memory of their love. She remembered the way they used to talk, the time they spent together. Even when her best friend, who secretly had a crush on her, proposed, she rejected him.
She said,
“If a person can’t stay loyal to the one they love, maybe they never truly loved them at all.”
She wanted to live a good life, holding on to her boyfriend’s memories and dreams.
The boy, still a soul, had one final dream. He woke up, drank some water, and whispered:
“What a crazy nightmare that was.”
It had been two days since that weekend dream.
He laughed and told the girl about it. She laughed too and said, “That’s impossible! You can't die just like that.”
As they were leaving the park, suddenly a white car came speeding toward them. The boy saw his girlfriend had already crossed half the road. The car wasn’t stopping. In that instant, he pushed her out of the way—and got hit by the car himself.
He died on the spot.
But just before the car struck him, he saw the driver’s face—and couldn’t believe it. The one driving the car… was himself
