A story even for non-football fans

"I'm not a huge fan of football. But I saw the story in the contest and thought it sounded interesting, and I wasn't disappointed. I liked the flow of the story, and I felt some strong emotions from time to time. Which is always a sign that a story is written well in my eyes. The football theme was obviously a focus, but even as a non-football fan, it was enjoyable to read. Maybe because the angle from which the sport was looked at was so interesting. The biggest fights do happen in the mind most of the time, after all. Well, that, and the romance part of course, which was written with a nice buildup. I wished that there might have been a few more chapters towards the end, though. It felt just a tiny bit rushed in the end. I would have liked to see certain plot points and drama/emotions stretched out just a bit more and to see the characters navigate through it for longer. But maybe that's just me. Still, I enjoyed the story, and I would recommend it to readers who might not even be big football fans, but still enjoy a good romance and a little drama with some good banter mixed in. "
