Prologue

Past is far, far away from the future. In some events, they don't even meet.

Angela's POV

I'm dragged out of the car, like some dog.

I fall on my knees, sand under my palms.

Everywhere, I look, all I see is sand, hills and a road, to nowhere.

This seems to be a mistake, me being here.

They have a wrong person, I never signed for it.

I feel lost. Lost and found by dangerous people.

This is not New York. Where am I?

I see boots in front of me and I lift my head.

He has a beard and tattoos, he looks old, too old.

"We have been waiting for you! Welcome to Texas, Hope!"

Third Person's POV

I've looked for you.

I've searched for you.

And now I've found you.

This is you.

Hiding on the plain sight.

Hiding from your dad.

Playing hide and seek.

Your fifth birthday. You are five already.

I'll leave this pink teddy bear on your door step. For now.

Happy fifth birthday!

Third Person's POV

Butterflies fly past you and you're trying to catch them.

It's refreshing to see you giggle.

Smiling, like there is no worry in the world.

Like, it should be.

Today is your sixth birthday.

I'm looking at you, how you play with your friend and family.

It's good to see your dad making you smile.

Happy sixth birthday!

Third Person's POV

Today you seem sad. I don't know why. I don't want to see you sad.

I want to give you this star locket, what you begged from your dad, but didn't get.

You should smile, like you've smiled before.

You should catch those butterflies.

I see you holding for your pink teddy bear. At least you got that.

I see you talking with it.

I can almost talk back at you.

You look such a big girl.

Well you are. You are seven years old.

Happy seventh birthday!

Third person's POV

I see you have gained some friends.

It's good to see you laughing with them, even if it's for the show.

I can see inside of you. I can see you not being happy.

You will be happy. I promise.

I will leave this red ruby ring for you.

Happy eighth birthday!

Third Person's POV

It's almost as refreshing as spring.

You look dashing in your blue dress.

I see your daddy giving you a present, and it's from me.

Looking at you smiling because of it, agh, I could just melt.

Soon, you will be where you belong.

Just be brave and I will hug you soon.

I hope you like your bunny.

Happy ninth birthday!

Third Person's POV

I see you getting ready to leave with your daddy.

You are wearing the black dress I got for you.

You are beaming.

Smiling so brightly.

You are truly amazing.

I'm going to leave your gift on his steps.

You are going to love this bike.

Happy tenth birthday!

Third Person's POV

This should be your eleventh birthday.

Today I am leaving a single rose to your dad's grave, where he is resting.

I wish, that you are safe.

I wish I could know, where you are.

But I hope you are safe.

This shouldn't have ended like this.

I miss the way you smiled.

I miss the way you chased the butterflies.

I miss you!

Wherever you are, happy eleventh birthday!

Third Person's POV

It has been fourteen years, but I never gave up on you.

You are back. Walking inside to the restaurant with Liam.

Do they know, how low you've become?

You'll be with us, soon. Away from here, away from those who are the murderers from the past. Away, from her, who calls to be your mother, but isn't in a fit of being a mother.

I'll watch you in distant, but I will always protect you. You'll be with us soon. I promise.
