Chapter 1: Eyes in the Metro
> I got on the metro.
It wasn’t crowded, but the emptiness didn’t feel safe either.
Silence wrapped around everything. Only the metallic screech of the rails and a muffled announcement in the background could be heard.
I sat down, hesitated for a moment.
Pulled out my book from my shoulder bag.
Started flipping through the pages.
I read the same paragraph twice.
I noticed it — but didn’t care.
And then, I felt it.
Two pairs of eyes watching me.
A shiver ran down my spine.
I turned my head — but no one was there.
There were people, yes... but those eyes, that stare…
As if it had never existed.
I turned back to my book. Tried to keep reading.
But now, the words had lost their clarity.
In the silence, I could feel it:
An invisible gaze.
Watching me.
And at that moment, I saw it —
My stop was next
