"This book was such a fun and refreshing read! From the very first page, the writing style grabbed me. It’s full of personality — lively, witty, and so easy to sink into. The author’s voice makes every scene feel engaging, and the main character’s humor really stands out. His accent shines through in the dialogue, which gives him a unique and memorable voice. I especially enjoyed his optimistic sarcasm; it added a layer of charm that balanced out the darker, creepier parts of the story. The plot itself is just as compelling. It weaves together dark, mysterious magic with African folklore in a way that feels both fresh and fascinating. I actually caught myself Googling some of the monsters and legends just to learn more about them — that’s how intriguing they were. The atmosphere is eerie without being overwhelming, and it’s fun to watch the main character navigate this world of ghosts and monsters that no one else can see. Despite everything happening around him, he still worries about his friendship with Sam, which gives the story an emotional core that made me care even more about what happens next. Overall, this is a book I’d definitely recommend to anyone looking for something different and exciting. It’s a perfect blend of humor, mystery, and folklore, with characters that are so enjoyable to follow. If you want a story that keeps you hooked, makes you laugh, and introduces you to a world you’ll want to spend more time in, The Hunter Chronicles: Echoes of Jumnie Road is well worth picking up! That said, I do think the book would benefit from a bit more time spent on editing and polishing. There were a few spots where the grammar or phrasing pulled me out of the story. Nothing major, but a cleaner edit would really make the excellent writing and story shine even brighter."

"I’ve only read the first four chapters so far, but I just wanted to say how much I appreciate the dialogue—it feels so authentic and natural. There are a few grammar points I noticed, but I get the sense they might be intentional, to reflect the character’s voice or background. I was pleasantly surprised to come across some folklore creatures I wasn’t familiar with—I even looked a few up, which I genuinely loved. "

Great Teenage Adventure
"As an author from South Africa. Unfortunately, I’m not a fan of magic or fantasy worlds—but I have to say, the story is well written, and the plot is strong. It feels like a teacher is telling you the story while you sit in a classroom, which gives it a unique, guided feel. The main character, Kyan Hunter, is relatable to many teenagers—even to me. If you enjoy magic, fantasy, and teenage adventures, this book is definitely for you. It’s just not my type of story."
