The Day I Sink
The Day I Sink
The clock tower weeps, a mournful chime,
As the world above begins to climb
Into a sky of bruised purple haze,
And I descend through watery maze.
No gentle drift, no graceful fall,
But a plunge that answers ocean's call.
The surface sighs, a final breath,
Then silence blooms, a dance with death.
My lungs, they yearn, a desperate plea,
As emerald shadows swallow me.
The sun, a coin, a distant gleam,
Lost in a subaquatic dream.
But fear gives way to strange delight,
As bioluminescent creatures ignite.
A coral city, a vibrant show,
Where secrets of the deep do flow.
No longer bound by gravity's chain,
I twirl and glide in liquid rain.
The ocean's heart, a pulsing drum,
A symphony where I become
A part of all, the seaweed's sway,
The silent songs the fish's play.
No longer lost, but finally found,
In the ocean's peace, profoundly bound.
So let the world above forget,
The day I sank, and haven't met
An end, but transformation's art,
Forever changed, a brand-new start.
