Chapter 3 the second chance
Chapter 3: The Second Chance
The story opens with the boy’s parents on a phone call. The mother is sobbing uncontrollably while the father tries to comfort her.
“Don’t cry,” he says softly. “We’ll be there by evening. Just hold on.”
The scene then shifts to the hospital. The boy lies unconscious, still and lifeless—he’s in a coma.
But let’s go back a bit and understand what really happened…
Earlier, the boy had been hit by a car. His heart stopped beating. Fortunately, an ambulance arrived just in time and rushed him to the hospital. But even after all efforts, the doctors declared him dead.
The girl, devastated, refused to believe it. Through her tears, she begged the doctors.
“There must be a way to save him!”
But the doctor shook his head and said coldly, “He’s gone.”
Heartbroken and crying, the girl walked out of the hospital whispering, “I trust him. He’ll return for me.” And she disappeared into the night.
Inside, one of the doctors hesitated. A last test remained: a check for arrhythmia, a condition that causes irregular heart rhythms and can lead to sudden cardiac arrest. The test was run—just in case.
At that moment, a cardiologist standing nearby recognized the boy.
“This patient has arrhythmia,” he revealed. “He’s been under my care for months, taking medication for it. He asked me to keep it secret—even from his parents. I was his family doctor, yet he made me promise not to tell anyone.”
With urgency, the doctors restarted treatment. After hours of critical care, they revived him. He was alive. Though still in a coma, he was now stable.
They tried contacting the girl, but they had no idea who she was. So they went through the boy’s records and called his parents immediately.
Evening came. The parents reached the hospital. The father settled all bills while the mother sat by her son’s side, stroking his hair, eyes filled with tears.
---
Meanwhile, in another dimension, the boy’s soul awakened—again. Confused, he looked around the strange realm where he had once heard the voice before.
“Why am I back here?” he wondered.
Then, the voice echoed once more:
"A soul like yours doesn’t belong here. You must return—because the girl who believes in you is now in danger."
Before he could ask anything, the voice continued,
"But first, hear this: The driver who hit you… was your own blood brother. The one your parents abandoned at birth. Raised by a gangster, twisted into someone else. You must face him. You will get hurt, but you must go back."
Startled by the truth, the boy opened his eyes in the hospital.
His parents were right in front of him.
Shaken, he asked, “Mother… Father… do I have a brother?”
They exchanged fearful glances. “No… no, you don’t,” his mother stammered.
He sat up, his voice sharp, “Tell me the truth!”
With great pain and hesitation, they confessed everything—the child they had left at the hospital years ago… the one they never spoke about.
The boy whispered, “The man who hit me… was my twin brother.”
The parents were stunned.
They wanted to leave the city immediately out of fear, but the boy stopped them.
“No. I’ll handle this. You don’t have to be part of it if you’re afraid. But if you are, then come with me. We finish this together.”
---
Meanwhile, at the girl’s house, the gangster—his brother—was impersonating the boy, trying to win her over. But she wasn’t convinced.
“This guy just looks like him,” she thought. “Something's wrong.”
Just then, her phone rang.
“Hello?” she answered.
“I’m calling from the hospital… where are you?” said the real boyfriend.
She froze. “That’s… impossible. You’re right in front of me.”
Before she could speak further, the gangster snatched the phone.
“Oh, so you’re alive?” he mocked. “Don’t worry. Your girl’s safe—for now. Come find her.”
The boy rushed to her house, but found it empty. He knew she’d been kidnapped.
Another call came in.
“If you want her back,” the gangster said, “Come to my place.”
The boy raced to the location. There, an old man greeted him.
“You came alone?” he chuckled. “You think we’re fools?”
Suddenly, dozens of gang members surrounded him.
The old man was the gangster who had raised his brother—the one who made him who he is.
But instead of fear, the boy smiled. “I knew you wouldn’t change. I’ve seen your type too many times.”
He raised his hand and said, “Come out, agents.”
From the shadows, agents of the W.B.I. (World Bureau of Investigation) revealed themselves.
They arrested the gang members and the old man, who was only the acting leader.
But the real boss—the boy’s brother—was waiting in the next room.
---
Inside, the gangster sat polishing his gun. He planned to kill the girl for refusing to accept him.
But the door burst open. The boy had arrived.
“Welcome, brother,” said the gangster with a twisted smile.
So how did he know they were brothers?
Flashback: During one of his missions, the gangster had traveled to a city. There, the boy’s parents mistook him for their son and took him home. At first, he resisted. But in their house, he saw photos—of his face. He felt a strange connection.
He later confronted his gangster father with a gun. “Who am I?!”
The truth came out. CCTV footage and hospital records confirmed everything. They were twins—blood brothers.
But instead of feeling whole, he was consumed by jealousy.
“Why was he chosen? Why did he get the good life?”
He started searching for his brother—first to find him, then to destroy him.
He discovered him through the café boss and also took his girl. But now, in the present, the two faced each other.
They fought brutally. The gangster, furious and wild, unleashed everything.
But the boy—trained in every combat skill by the W.B.I.—dodged with precision and fought back hard. Blow after blow, the gangster fell behind.
Bloodied and bruised, the gangster drew his gun and aimed at the girl.
But—click—no bullets.
The boy had already emptied the magazine during the scuffle.
The girlfriend had seen everything. She stood, trembling.
Suddenly, the gangster collapsed—fatally wounded.
The mother screamed. She had just watched one of her sons die.
---
And so, the chapter ends.
But wait… One last question remains:
Who was that voice? Who gave the boy a second chance?
Well… only the narrator has the power to do something like that.
And now you know—
The voice was the narrator himself.
