Two Worlds Apart

Rome, Italy – a city of history, art, and passion. Amid the chaos of scooters, tourists, and ancient stone, lived Alessandro Romano, the only son of one of the wealthiest families in the country.

Alessandro was twenty-four years old, tall, with dark brown hair and sharp blue eyes. He had studied at the best schools, wore designer clothes, and drove a black Maserati through the marble streets of Rome. His life was perfect—at least, that’s what everyone believed.

But Alessandro felt trapped. His days were filled with business meetings, cold dinners with powerful people, and a father who cared more about profit than feelings. He smiled at parties, laughed with models, but deep inside, he felt nothing.

One Saturday, seeking escape, Alessandro left his family's mansion in Parioli and drove with no destination. He parked in Trastevere, a colorful neighborhood filled with music, artists, and old churches. It was a part of Rome he rarely visited.

As he walked past a small piazza, he heard a voice.

Not just any voice—a voice full of raw emotion, one that made the noise of the city disappear.

He turned and saw her.

A girl, no older than twenty, with long curly brown hair and olive skin. She wore simple jeans, a second-hand sweater, and sat on a crate with a guitar in her hands. Her eyes were closed as she sang, lost in her world.

Her name was Sofia.

Alessandro stood frozen. Something in her song made his heart beat differently. When she finished, he clapped quietly and dropped a fifty-euro bill into her open guitar case.

Sofia opened her eyes and gave him a half-smile. "That’s a lot for one song," she said in perfect Italian.

"I think it was worth a thousand," he replied.

They looked at each other for a second longer than normal.

And in that moment, their two worlds—rich and poor, luxury and survival—touched for the very first time.
