Welcome!

🪷

I got off the bus with a light breeze. As I walked to my chair at work, I saw him. He was my brother’s teacher.

The first time we met, we had talked about my brother’s school.

He was a tall gentleman with dark hair. When he spoke, he spoke eloquently and left an impression.

Today, I was wearing a long skirt and had done dark makeup.

When he took his turn and sat down, I started working.

He was watching me. When I looked at him, he would look away, but he kept watching me.

Was he nervous?

Maybe his work was urgent.

“Hello, welcome. How can I help you?”

He didn’t say anything for a moment. He just handed me a paper for his transaction.

He nodded, and while handling his business, he didn’t take his eyes off me.

“Is my brother a good student?”

“Yes. Very hardworking.”

I nodded, and when he finished, I smiled and wished him a good day.

Why had he come for such a simple task? He could have done it himself.

After work, when I went to pick up my brother, I saw him again.

“Good day.”

As soon as I got home and threw myself onto the bed, I realized how tired I was from wearing heels.

He wouldn’t leave my mind.

I closed my eyes.

He was still on my mind.

The next day, I wore a long skirt again, but this time I wore flats instead of heels to rest my feet.

An hour after I started working, there he was again.

During breaks or early in the morning.

His work wasn’t urgent enough to bring him at this hour, was it?

He took his turn again, sat down, and looked at me. I took a deep breath.

He sat down in front of me again.

“What’s your transaction?”

He was silent. He stayed silent for a while.

“How are you?”

“I’m fine. And you?”

“I’m fine. You look tired.”

“I’m fine. What’s your transaction?”

When I repeated, he handed me the paper again.

After completing his transaction, he thanked me and left.

In the bright white workplace, it felt like my heart was the only thing noticed.
