Summary

I shiver, every nerve on fire. He’s dangerous. He’s trouble. I push off his chest, and he sets me on my feet, careful, but his hands linger a second longer than they should. Standing beneath him, I realize just how tall he is, how much space he takes up. He towers over me, broad and solid, making me feel small in a way that’s both terrifying and—God help me—thrilling. I can’t find my words. I can’t find my air. I swallow, then blurt, “Your condom almost killed me.”

Summary

In the heart of cartel country, loyalty is a loaded gun—and love is the ultimate risk. Fresh out of a brutal seven-year stint in a Mexican prison, Mico Rivera just wants to keep his head down. But when his older brother, Santiago—a feared drug lord—pulls him back into the family mansion, Mico can’t ignore the shadows in the halls, or the bruises on his brother’s stunning wife, Isabel.

It’s not long before he’s tangled in the underground world of sicarios (the ruthless hitmen who do the cartel’s dirty work), blood money, and a forbidden, electric attraction that could burn the whole empire down. Every night, Mico hears Isabel’s cries. Every day, Santiago tests his loyalty. And every second, the line between protection and obsession gets thinner. In a world where trust is a death sentence, Mico has to decide what he’s willing to risk for a woman who was never his to touch.

Obsidian: He's hilarious. Like, actually. I loved it. You're writing style is great, although you could do with a few less murmurs and mutters. I know it sounds critical, but I have the same problem and I hate it. Overall, it was one of the best stories I've read on here so far. I liked it better than those M...
