1 The Grim Introduction

The sun has gone. Light is dim. More bats replace a few birds, and finally, a very dusky evening has set in. The Carnivora family has arrived with their only daughter, Elenora, to drop her personally at the school. They looked happy, but the child showed signs of wickedness, treachery, and vile.

Elenora Snicket, the popular girl with a history of mental psychic ness and emotional disability, changing attitudes, risque smile, and deadly thoughts. She cannot control her overflowing feelings and does not want to control them either. But her parents thought admitting her into the notorious academy of WWW would be better than sending her to a hospital.

“Hospitals are for the dead. I am still alive,” she said wickedly.

" This academy is for wicked hearts only. I am sure you will learn good things.” Elenora’s mother, Miss Scarlett, told her while taking her to the dormitory room.

" The only thing I will learn is how to steal his heart.” She whispered inwardly.

The only reason Elenora is here is for her childhood sweetheart, Khaos, who has been running away from her since the time he met her. Her behaviour was dark, like a sassy witch, and he was a good vampire, actually, a very controlled vampire, but there is a problem. He is a vampire without fangs, a blood sucking creature without teeth.

“What a shame,” she laughed on the very first day when she saw him while swinging.

And this was the day he began to hate her while she began to fall in love.

The boy was calm, shy, harmless, and did not reply to her back despite embarrassment, and perhaps, the very reason why Elenora fell for him. The reality was, even if he wanted to harm her, he could not. Because

‘HE DOES NOT HAVE FANGS’

Elenora Snicket belonged to the Carnivora family. A family of Witches known for good deeds like curing troubled souls through occultism, practising wizardry in dark and roaming in forests without lights. They have also newly indulged in cursing practices, but one needs a VIP pass and special permission to get full access to the method. The Carnivora family is large, consisting of only three people. Lycan Snicket, the sugar daddy of Elenora, Miss Scarlett, the mother of witches, and finally their little daughter, Miss Elenora.

Lycan and Scarlett went against all odds and performed a duet together at night. And then, finally, before the sun rose, after exactly nine months, a girl came into their world.

“She is beautiful.”

“NO”

“She is cute.”

“NO”

“Then who is she?”

“Our product, our hard work, our toilsome. She is ….. Our deadliest daughter, our Eleanora. The next heir of the Snicket family.” Lycan proclaimed maliciously.

“She has turned sixteen, and still now she is unable to control her attitude,” Scarlett said, concernedly, to Lycan, who was sitting on the couch sadly. The palm of her left hand covered half of his eye, and he was thinking about what to do next. In the last three weeks, three prestigious hospitals have rejected her resume due to her detailed behaviours. The last hospital was a schintilating Mad Mental Hospital. The receptionist informed that she has cured all the patients, and due to this, the free funds from all the NGOs, families, and rich people have stopped. The hospital management complained that her activities were against all hospital rules and ethics.

“Your daughter is not fit here.” The receptionist elucidated in one breath, “She has cured patients without a nurse’s approval and a doctor’s degree. She has also ignored mandatory paperwork, signatures, stamps, and consent certificates from the deceased’s family. We hereby request you to please come and take your daughter with discretion.”

Scarlett had picked up the call, and so as a mother, she was distressed to hear the receptionist behind the call. She was worried not about the hospital losing its patients but about her daughter’s future. After all, she is the apple of her eye, a twinkle of the sky, and her sweetie-pie.

“We are now left with one option.” Lycan stood high and walked towards the direction of the room’s closed window. “ The WWW”

“Are you sure you will take her to WWW?”

“Yes…” Lycan said seriously, “The WWW will be the safest place with stricter rules and punishments. I believe she will learn everything that we cannot teach her.”

“Believe?” Scarlett questioned.

“The true foundation of human character begins with belief and faith. You must trust me if you want our daughter to become the greatest Witch the world has seen.”

“I trust you with all my blood and my nails.”

Lycan and Scarlett then set out on their journey with their daughter. They chose a shady night to escape the city, leaving no suspect behind, no signs, no warnings. Driving recklessly on the mountain roads, they ignored all signboards, hazardous turns, police checkpoints, and the forecast.

“Mother, it said there can be a flash flood in this area,” Elenora informed.

“Worry not, dear. We are good swimmers. These weather reports are always false.”

“Shall I try my wizardry power to stop this flood in case it occurs?”

“You are a teenager. Only adults can do it with verified paperwork and a license. You have nothing.” Scarlett replied cautiously.

“I have verified parents with an ocular degree. Does that qualify?” She asked.

“No, because you are not allowed to practice occult skills in and nearby school premises.” We are a thousand miles away and quite close to the school entrance. Any malpractice without preventive measures will lead to your disqualification. We surely can’t afford that now.”

“Your mother is right,” Lycan said in between.

“Lycan, my love, please focus on your driving. We are already ahead of time, but your driving skills are fast, while it needs to be the fastest.”

“Why can’t we use our flying broom?. We could have reached in a minute.” Elenora intervened, narrowing her eyes at her mom.

“Brooms are old. In this new generation of science and technology, we must use the best equipment. The car is the latest addition to the human world. It has excellent wheels, four in number, two on each side. A large trunk with all your belongings and three of us fitting together well.”

Elenora felt dejected. She shifted herself to the very corner of the car after her mother did not approve of her idea. She has never approved of her daughter’s idea because it was always related to breaking rules.

Elenora’s relations with her mother were gradually fading with time, slowly turning dull and vague. She has always doubted that she could be her evil stepmother. But after a DNA check, it was proven, she was biologically her mother. Elenora did not approve blood check-up because she thought her mother could use her tricks to match the blood, but it is impossible to do any hoarding with the DNA structure.

However, Eleanora loves her dad. Her dad is her sugar daddy. He gives her all kinds of freedom, like chasing, teasing, thinking, frying, spooking, and smelling.

On the other hand, her mother restricts her due to deep motherly instincts. She taught her nothing but only the basics of witchcraft as if she were a toddler. She treats Elenora like a gentle soap. On her first day in the world, when Elenora took her first step, she taught her how to walk using her legs. Instead, Elenora chose to fly like a real witch.

When she was THREEnager, Scarlett taught her how to bloom a flower, but she shrunk them in seconds. Then, a series of tiny teachings began at home, which, obviously, little Elenora despised a lot. Her mother’s teachings about the witchcraft practices and sorcery art were nothing but a calamitous commencement. As illustrated by Elenora herself, she said,

“She taught me how to catch butterflies when I reluctantly wanted to conjure fireflies and bees. She taught me how to find beauty in tiny, luminescent orbs in the air when I specifically told her, I want to crush them in a grinder. She forbids me to practice any dark spell alone. Dark spells bring evil into the house, she says it every time, even during dinner and early morning tea. Aren’t we the wild witches? What are we supposed to do? Sing lullabies to babies? What are witches for, to create terror or restore peace?”

“Witches can be good too.” Scarlett replied plainly, “You can be a good witch, but for that, you need to control your feelings, and that’s why we bring you to this school.”

“This school,” She continued after a short pause, “is a very renowned and scandalous school. We were once students here. That’s where I found your dad also.”

“ I always thought schools are created for studies, not to find partners,” Elenora told the fact.

“I hope you find education and friends, too.”

And after a long journey, they arrived at their destination. The entrance of the school had a large board, and on it was etched the very famous name of the school
