The Beginning of Everything
“Stop! Alex, you know you can’t find a way out too! There is no solution! You are just going to exhaust yourself!”
Viola shouted behind us, I owe her a lot of gratitude. She was nice to all off the kids at the facility, but there was one thing, she had no hope, she gave up, the spark in her eyes has faded. She surrendered.
And I was not going to do that,
Ryan poked me
“Come on”
Ryan and I started running down the hallway where we didn't know where it ended up, the Alarm had gone off.
The bars that Ryan had opened by breaking the system were slowly closing behind us. The sound of ear-piercing alarms was everywhere The voice of the guards was heard "This way!"
Viola was trying to stop them, she didn't want anything to happen to us. And at the same time she was begging us to come back.
At that moment, the gunshot went off and the voices we heard from Viola stopped. My eyes filled with tears and I started crying without realizing it. I headed for the railings from which we came.
"Viola!"
Ryan grabbed my arm and pulled me back.
"Alex...Let’s go.”
I looked at Ryan as I tried to hold back my tears.
"But..."
He looked into my eyes. Now wasn't the time to cry, no matter how much of a storm was raging inside me... At least I couldn't let her die in vain...
"We have to go... we have to get out of here before the guards catch up to us.”
He pulled my arm and continued running.
The bars of the main gate were about to close. I looked back and forth, trying to stop my pounding heart and the adrenaline surging through my body. We're... we're getting away... we're getting out of here... Ryan slipped under the bars. He looked at me. "Come on, hurry up." I hurriedly followed him and quickly slipped under the bars.
The bars slammed shut with a loud bang after I finally got through.
The gunfire intensified, and as we were about to continue, a bullet grazed my head and lodged itself in the wall.
"Alex, be careful, we have to go."
And he kept pulling me; we were here, and there was that iron gate.
"How are we going to get through here?"
"Do you think I'd try this without a plan?"
"It seemed to me you were a little fired up for a moment."
"Stop babbling and back off." He pulled something out of his pocket.
"Where did you get that!?" I flinched and backed away.
He tucked a small explosive under the door.
“Long story."
He pressed the button on the detonator and grabbed my arm, walking away from the door. Everything was happening so fast, my heart was about to explode. I wondered if we were going to get out of here without dying. The door exploded with a deafening bang. Good thing the explosion wasn’t big enough to injure us from far. Everything went blurry for a few seconds, and my ears started ringing.
"Come on, quick."
I was still trying to regain my composure when Ryan pulled my arm, when i looked back, the explosion didn’t cause big harms except the door. And we finally made it out. But we had one more problem, we were surrounded by wire. How was he planning to get out of here? I looked at Ryan with questioning eyes and concern. The footsteps of guards were heard.
"Ryan! What are we going to do?"
Ryan looked at the guards.
"Do you trust me?"
I looked at him in confusion.
"Is this the time for this?!?"
Suddenly, one of the guards fired their gun.
