The doll

There was a soft breeze that night and Jenna had decided to go for a walk in the park, she didn’t mind the dark in fact she quite liked it, it felt… secure, safe even. As she walked Jenna noticed something in the hedge she bent over to pick up the object and found herself flat on the ground as she tripped, as she lifted her head she heard the voice of a child say

“Are you alright?” the voice was kind and gentle.

“I’m find I just tripped over” Jenna replied as she looked around for the voice.

“I’m down here in front of you” the voice said

Jenna looked down, and in front of her was a doll laying on its belly kicking her legs behind her with her head in her hands.

“Hello, my name Alice what’s yours?” asked the doll

“I ur I’m… its Jenna” she replied shocked into speaking to the apparently alive doll

The Next Week

“Good morning Jenna”

“Good morning Alice”

Jenna had gotten use to the old doll talking to her it was nice to have someone to talk to after all these year, she would wake up every morning and there would be a sandwich there next to her how the doll managed this she couldn’t of guessed, all that Jenna knew was that the meat inside it was delicious and as time had passed less and less of Janna’s family and friends had contacted her the stopped all of a sudden one by one they wouldn’t receive her calls and when she went round there houses they wouldn’t answer and not make a sound!

“They must all be jealous because of my new doll “thought Jenna but the truth was a lot more sinister….

Weeks passed but to Jenna they seemed like years she couldn’t remember a time she didn’t have the doll with her in her bag, hand or rucksack and one morning Jenna woke up early hopping to surprise the little doll by making her breakfast instead but when Jenna looked for Alice she wasn’t there Jenna looked everywhere for her dear friend but she couldn’t find the doll eventually Jenna decided to go get the breakfast ready for when Alice returned as she walked down the stairs she thought that she could hear a whimpering and the sharpening of a knife but as she got to the bottom the muffling stopped and the house was silent…

“Must have been my imagination” she thought to herself then Jenna made a fatal mistake … she opened the kitchen door and screamed. On the kitchen table, the doll was sitting legs underneath her holding a knife. And the knife was dripping. On the table in front of the doll was Jenna’s lifelong friend Emma with her throat slit open, the blood was still pouring from the wound onto the kitchen floor creating a small puddle of blood. Emma was the last person who was talking to Jenna then Jenna noticed something that made her blood curl and her heart stop dead. Next to Emma there was a loaf of bread and a tub of butter and on the bread? Was a slice of Emma’s flesh!

“It’s ok now” whispered the doll as a shadow fell over her face

“Were all alone now. No one can disturb us we can be happy now” and Alice smiled a creepy wooden smile the same smile that Jenna had looked forward to seeing every morning she turned and ran up the stairs she flung herself into the bedroom and slammed the door behind her locking it so that the evil of the doll could no longer affect her

“Why did you run away? I just wanted to play”

Jenna turned around and to her horror the doll was sitting on the bed with a sandwich next to her. Without warning the doll leaped from the bed and camped its hands around Jenna’s head whispering

“Remember Jenna, remember what you did.”

Jenna woke up to find herself in her parents’ house holding a knife Jenna knew she had no control over what was happening, she went upstairs and into her parents’ room they were asleep and comfortable she lent down and placed the knife to her own mothers neck. The dread was showing in Jenna’s eyes as she slit her mother’s throat then her fathers.

She saw every single one of her friends die at her hand, each new way more gory and horrible from the last she saw herself be-heading, gutting and ripping her friends and family to pieces and the more she watched the more she enjoyed it until the last one Emma in which she remembered taking an axe and cutting off every finger and toe the slicing her stomach open revealing her guts she put Emma into a bag and dragged her home where the doll was waiting for her to make her morning sandwich and Jenna blacked out.

Jenna sat up looked at the sandwich that the doll had made. She smiled as she picked the morsel of meat up from its soft resting place upon the bed and took a bite. As the blood dribbled down her throat and over her chin it felt good.

She looked to the puppet next to her with a lust in her eyes… a lust for human flesh.

“We should get more stock I’m starving and Emma was a fitness freak she has hardly any meat on her!”

“Well get more but for now sleep” Whispered the Puppet as it sharpened the blade and drew it across her newest victims’ throat.

“Yes” rasped the voice its sound like sandpaper rough and un-orderly.

“This canvas is perfect”

“Indeed” came the reply this one’s voice was that of a serpent if they could speak

The rage and insanity of this one shall allow a long and artful masterpiece its positively glowing” said the firstly voice from the shadows

“Oh, be quiet” came a sharp reply of the second voice. There was a thin whooshing sound then a short silence followed by a thunk of a head rolling onto the floor.

“Finally, peace and quiet” said the second voice as she took her silver pen dipped it in its red ink and cut into the soft and warm canvas of Jenna’s skin. And started to write his new story.
