Chapter 1

And I thought whatever I did had a purpose... a purpose leading me to my target, until I realize I was on wrong track...

I woke up with sound of someone breaking my front door. Who would have a death wish this early in the morning. I got up and wore my favorite pink slippers, favorite because they're soft, not because they're pink.

"Coming, stop banging!!" I yelled at the door.

I opened the door with a annoyed face just to see Amy with donuts and a big smile.

"heyyyyyy Chase" she said as if I was as excited as she.

"hey Amy" I said and turned to my kitchen.

Amy followed me in and placed the donuts on the kitchen counter. She took a plate from the nearest rack and started placing the donuts in a circle. They smell fresh. Amy always brings fresh donuts.

"So.. are you really not coming" she said

"I already told you Amy, its not my thing, I don't want people to be scared of me because of my eye color... " I placed the kettle on the stove, ".. it just makes me hate myself"

I felt Amy's sympathy towards me. Even if I was not looking in her direction.

"Chase, focus on positive aspects of it"

Amy wanted me to join her in Winters fest, held every year in New York. And this time, Amy is the chief guest.

"There are no positive aspects of it Amy, every time I try to accept my fate, it gets worst, its not my fault I'm born like this, you know I can't control it.. people are scared of me.. and I don't want it anymore, I don't like to see their faces when they see a shift in my eye color, its horrible for them" I almost yelled.

Amy was quite. She was just looking at me, staring into my soul, as if I've told her the most bitter truth that ever existed in history. "I'm.. I'm just sorry Amy."

"No, no its okay Chase, I get it. I really do.." Amy said with a broken smile. "I know it must be hard to live like that, but don't be sad"

"I'm not sad.."

"II can see blue in your eyes, Chase"

I turned my face towards the window, pretending to be nonchalant. But she knows me very well...
