"I found this story just flicking through and thought I'd give it a go, and I'm glad I did. I love the tea and crumpets English fishing village setting, the knitting circle with more threads and stories to unravel than an entire set of Agatha Christie. Dodgy jam, posh wool, chicken tea cosies and a crooked vicar. I love a miss Marple style mystery and this story has everything, even down to the mini pork pies and the love of everything cheese. My favourite character though must be Hercule Pickles Poirot who had the whole thing pegged right from the start and just enjoyed the humans incompetent fumblings. If this isn't made into a short film one day there is no justice in the world. Only thing that isn't clear though is why the little wooden dogs, and why the portrait of his lordship Mr pickles?. That said, this is wonderful to read, refreshing, funny, quirky and so different to other stories that are full of death, violence and sex. LOVED IT, IF THERE WAS A SERIES I WOULD WATCH IT END TO END. ☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️ "
