"I really don't mind the love>betrayal>enemies>redemption idea, but this took it way too far. He kept betraying, and she kept forgiving, so it felt unnecessarily drawn out - and then it ends with a 'cliffhanger' betrayal to lead into a second book?! I am not often angry, but that really set me off. Put the stick down and quit beating a dead horse! In all honesty, I was 200% against her ever giving him another chance when I realized he kept turning the lamp off to exert power over her despite knowing she was terrified of the dark. That's just plain abusive."
