Poem - 1 "Once in Life"
Once in life,
I want someone to write a poem for me—
To notice the flicker of my little successes,
And compliment them like they're constellations.
Someone who knows, without a single word,
That I need him.
One who stays by my side,
And believes in me—
More than I ever believed in myself.
Someone who reminds me
Who I truly am,
When everything feels like it’s shattering.
Who hugs me tight and softly says,
“I’m here. I’ve got you.”
Someone who reads every single line I’ve written,
Not once, but many times,
Like my words are a scripture of my soul.
Who loves me—not for how I look,
But for who I am,
And who I long to become.
The one who places my needs above his own,
Who shares my dreams like they’re his too.
Someone who breathes the air
As if I am the reason he's alive.
Once in life,
I want someone
To read a poem to me—
As I die in his arms.
