Prelude: What Lies Within
It’s easy to lose yourself inside of your own mind. The walls that we construct, are much easier to enter, than to leave. We thrive on comfort and the ability to control. But we struggle to actually understand what lies within.
Tommy is an adult that is filled with constant fear and doubt. He used to be a nerdy kid, who always desired to belong. He had mostly experienced the ordinary life. He had a close family, and a set of loving parents. But his challenge, was not from the circumstances he was given, but rather the evil that lied within. Too feel alive was not his issue, but to feel in control was impossible.
Over a period of time, Tommy grew more ashamed of who he was. He felt as if he had sinned, but had not moved. That he was a criminal, who had not acted. He loved his life, but never felt in control. Like he was a plane without wings, or a car without tires. This feeling would become normal as it worsened in his life. From being an innocent child, to having the mind of a criminal with a flip of a switch. These thoughts did not feel welcoming, but rather like a pest. An infestation, that could not be controlled. A sickness with no origin.
He continued to push down any emotion he may have, and shut down any life he may want. His goal was to blend in with what is around him. But the evil within wont surrender without a fight. A war inside of his mind began.
