Summary

A collection of poems drawn from real moments—meetings, misunderstandings, small wins, and quiet heartbreaks. Each piece captures how it felt in the moment, and how those feelings might echo in others. Honest, sharp, and unfiltered, these poems speak to anyone who’s ever felt unseen, undervalued, or quietly resilient.

Poem #1 - Watch Me Work

They said, “It’s just a chat.”

Casual.

Like I hadn’t read this script before.

But see—

when you walk in thinking it’s about a phone and walk out holding the weight of everything you’ve ever done wrong, you know the meeting was never the point.

The message was.

They said “rogue” like it was dirty.

Like initiative was a sin and efficiency had no place unless it was theirs.

Like knowing how to get things done without waiting for permission made me a threat.

So here I am now.

No texts.

No extras.

No more being the go-to.

You want it done?

Log the request.

Wait in line.

Blocked every doctor in my phone.

Removed the manager who never asked if I was okay.

If you can’t show up when I’m gutted, don’t expect a seat when I rebuild.

Yeah, it stung.

To feel expendable after years of giving more than what was written.

To be made the example, while half the building breaks the same rules with a nod and a wink.

But I’m not naive.

I see it now.

You don’t want compliance.

You want obedience.

You want quiet, until I’m out the door on my own.

But I’m still here.

And guess what?

I clock in.

I do the job.

I take my break.

I clock out.

No overtime.

No small talk.

No apologies.

I know who I am.

And I’ve got people— real ones— the kind who’d write me a reference before you could write another warning.

So if this was supposed to break me?

You’ll have to try harder.

Because the thing about going rogue?

It usually just means you were ahead of your time.

And I’ve still got time.

I’ve still got truth.

I’ve still got work.

So watch me.

But don’t you dare

look down on me

while I rise.
