The strange night

During my childhood, I lived with my maternal grandparents and my mother in their house, which was located in a rural area surrounded by open farm fields. Life there was simple and peaceful. I have many fond memories of those days — especially the nights when my grandfather would tell me old stories and folk tales. After dinner, we would often sit under the stars, and I loved watching the moon and the endless sky above the fields. Those moments made me feel calm and curious about the world beyond.

But one night, something happened that I can never forget.

I was around eight years old, sleeping on a charpoy (a traditional woven bed) in the veranda of the house. The weather was pleasant, and the door to the veranda was left open to let in the breeze. It was past midnight when I suddenly woke up, though I'm not sure wha sturbed my sleep.Everything around me was quiet, and my mother and grandparents were sleeping peacefully inside.

As I turned my gaze toward the sky, I saw something strange - something that didn't belong to the world I knew.

There, above me, was a bridge floating in the sky.

It was glowing with a soft, pinkish light. It wasn't connected to anything, just suspended in midair.

What startled me even more was the sight of shadows - human-like figures - walking silently across this bridge. They, too, were pink in color, like they were part of the light.

Leading them was a taller shadow, the first in line, holding a large stick in his hand. He walked slowly but with purpose, as if guiding the others. The shadows behind him followed in a neat line. Each of them appeared to be carrying something - though I couldn't make out what — and as they moved from one side of the bridge to the other, the items they carried seemed to disappear into thin air.

There was a strange, low sound in the air, like a hum or a distant wind, but I couldn't tell where it was coming from. The whole scene felt unreal — not like a dream, but not like waking life either.

I was completely confused and frightened. I didn't know what I was seeing or what it meant. I looked toward my mother and grandparents, hoping someone else was awake, but they were all sound asleep, unaware of the strange sight above us.

Terrified and unsure of what to do, I quickly pulled my blanket over my head and shut my eyes tightly, hoping it would all go away. Eventually, I fell back asleep. To this day, I still wonder what it was that I saw.

Was it just a dream, or something supernatural? I have no answers — only the memory of that pink glowing bridge in the sky, the line of shadowy figures, and the feeling that I had witnessed something beyond this world.
