Remembered (Squeal to Forgotten)

Tony, Pepper, Rhodey, Natasha, Thor, Bruce, Happy, Ned, MJ, May, and Clint each grabbed their watches.

“What about us?” Steve asked, Wanda standing next to him.

“Yeah, you two will not be remembering this.” Stephen decided.

“What!” Wanda snapped. “You can’t decide that.”

“Actually I can.” Stephen glared at her. “I was the one to bring you all here, so I’m the one who chooses who remembers what they’ve seen.” Stephen had no plan on letting those two keep their memories. Nor was he letting The Potters, Molly Weasley, and Albus Dumbledore.

Ever so often, Stephen would take a peek into everyone’s mind, seeing who would help his girl and who would harm her. Those seven did not pass and Stephen will not allow anyone to hurt Penny. Not anymore.

Stephen turned back to the Avengers, “You all will be sent back to your own time. You all have a week to change things, those watches will tell you what you can change and what you can’t. After that week the watch will change to a year and a place. You guys will meet at that time and place.”

Tony looked closely at the watch “What year?” He asked.

“No idea.” Stephen sighed. “The watches weren’t made by me. They were made by the universe.” The group nodded. “Now, Lily, James, and Harry Potter. Molly Wealsey. Albus Dumbledore. Steve Rogers. And Wanda Maximoff. I have been listening to your thoughts from the beginning.” The seven paled. Many side-eyed the group wondering what they were thinking during all of this.

“The Seven of you will have no memories of what happened in this hall today. The seven of you will never remember and no one will tell you.”

“No!”

Dumbledore tried to cast a spell at Stephen, and Wanda armed her powers but Penny was quicker. Penny blasted Wanda into the wall before turning on her heel and disarming Dumbledore.

Some screamed and scrambled back. The professors looked at Penny in disbelief that she took down one of their most powerful wizards with just a blast of her hand. Tony, and May shared proud looks. Penny didn’t really use her magical powers much, so it’s nice to see her gaining control and accepting that part of her.

“Don’t even try it.” Penny warmed her bio-family and Molly. Steve rushed towards Wanda, helping her to her feet. “Stephen, do it now.” Penny told her boyfriend.

Stephen quickly did the spell, the glowing circle splitting into seven parts and with one push, hit each person in the middle of their heads. The circles glowed brightly before dimming, their bodies hitting the ground with hard thuds.

The only one to move was Arthur, making sure his wife was still alive.

“What did you do?” Happy asked.

“I took their memories. They will never be able to remember, ever.”

Stephen turned back to them. “It’s time.”

“What about you two?” May asked quickly, looking at her niece. “Aren’t you going back as well?”

Penny looked at Stephen who shook his head. “We will be going to the mirror dimension until it’s time for us to go back to our time.” Stephen sent May and Tony a reassuring look. “Penny will be safe with me.”

“I know.”

Tony eyed Stephen for a moment, then looked at Penny who smiled. “She better be.” He told Stephen.

Stephen nodded and opened four different portals, in front of them. “These will lead you to your time. Be safe.”

“Wait!” Penny called out. They turned to her just in time for Penny to run into Tony’s chest. Tony hugged back reflexively before he even understood who was hugging him. “In case, I don’t see you again.” Penny muttered.

Tony smiled sadly, tightening his hold “You will.” He promised, kissing her head. Penny sighed, squeezing him back before moving towards May, hugging her tightly.

“We’ll see each other again.” May whispered.

Penny nodded, kissing her aunt’s cheek before stepping back, smiling at everyone else. “It’s time for you to go.” Penny told them, voice cracking. If this didn’t work, if nothing changed, at least Penny got this time with them. Stephen wrapped his arms from behind her, holding her tightly.

One-by-one people stepped through the portals.

May, Happy, Ned and MJ stepped through one.

Thor and Bruce stepped through the second one.

Natasha and Clint dragged Wanda and Steve through the third one, promising to meet the others at the Avengers compound.

Tony, Pepper, and Rhodey stepped through the last one.

Then, they were gone.

Penny tensed holding back a sob. “It’s okay.” Stephen whispered in her ear. “I promise it’s going to be okay.” Penny nodded, taking a deep breath. Stephen turned to the wizards and witches in the hall. “As for everyone else, your time will start again. We will reach out to you when help is needed.”

McGonagall nodded, stepping forward, “Thank you. For showing us the truth.”

Stephen nodded, pulling Penny closer to him. “Till we meet again.” Stephen opened another portal and pulled Penny with him, leaving the hall in silence.
