Chapter 1 A villa on the edge of the hills
They thought it was just a weekend trip.
A villa on the edge of the hills.
Three friends — Rajes, Manita, and Archit — all living in the same apartment, looking for a break from the city.
But the nightmares began after they returned.
Part 1 – Rajes
It started with the dream.
He was back in the villa. The walls groaned like they were breathing. A shadow moved along the hallway, always just ahead of him. He called Manita’s name, but the voice that answered wasn’t hers.
When he woke, his bedsheets were damp with sweat — and the faint smell of the villa’s damp wood clung to him.
At breakfast, Manita sat at the table, stirring her tea with her left hand. Rajes frowned. She’d always been left-handed… except now she was holding the spoon with her right.
“Sign this for me,” she said casually, sliding a paper toward him. He froze — she signed her name with her right hand, perfectly.
Pulti barked once, then retreated to the bedroom, whining.
That night, he couldn’t sleep. He went to the balcony for air. And that’s when he saw her — at the side of the neighbor’s house, crouched low, her shoulders jerking with each bite of something dark and limp.
The moonlight caught her face for a moment.
It wasn’t Manita’s face at all.
