Story 1

12 AM

"There's a knock at the door? At this hour?" Helena mumbled to herself as she put on her violet lace robe and rushed down the stairs. She opened the door to a rainy night. No one stood before her—only a bouquet of her favorite flowers, red spider lilies. She picked up the note, drenched in something sticky, barely visible in the flickering porch light.

The letter read:

"For my love, Helenaoh how i miss you dearly. I still hear your voice through the screaming in the depths of Hell. Even though im burning, you keep my spirits up, my love. I'm sending you these flowers so that you can join me below, so that we are never apart again. I can't bear my afterlife without you. Follow the instructions and join us, never apart again.

~ Yours truly, Levi"

Her hands shook, tears flowed as she read that name—Levi, her beloved who died in the Long War five years ago. "Is this a sick joke?" she whispered. She flipped the letter to check for instructions... nothing. She placed the now-wet lilies on the kitchen counter and tried to get some sleep.

3 AM

Helena woke in a puddle of sweat and tears, thinking the treacherous bouquet had been a dream. She walked down the creaking stairs to the kitchen. To her horror, the bouquet was still there. Terrified, she tore the flowers apart to throw them away.

"Ah!" she screamed. Something pricked her hand. Blood flowed, but it seemed… wrong—darker, like the substance on the letter. She pulled out the object causing the wound. "It's…? It's a bone?!"

She found more bones within the bouquet, each etched with strange symbols. Her hand still dripping, she watched in disbelief as the bones began to organize themselves into shapes she had never seen. Her spine chilled as the air in the room thickened and cooled, but the soles of her feet burned in the center of the shapes.

A whisper brushed her ear:

"My love, join me now."

It was Levi’s voice, but dark, demonic. Before she could turn in sheer horror, she felt scratches and grips around her wrists and ankles. She was dragged under, down to where Levi lay—gone forever—into hell with her love.

All that remained in that old house was her violet lace robe, now soaked in deep, dark blood. No answers, no clues. Poor Helena was never seen or found again.
