Chapter 1 Aoni
(The Golden one is born)
Amras one of the three sons of the high king of the Cimmerian tribe, choose not to embrace that evil life. He decided he would embrace peace and harmony, instead of war and destruction. He did not share the beliefs of his father and his father’s tribe.
He was very unusual for an elven that belonged to the tribe of the Cimmerian, the ancient blood drinkers. Amras was a very skilled tracker, and he was skilled in making and using weaponry. He had a special talent for sword fighting. His blade was named Anwanane (Menace). When he was young he made every excuse why he would not be drawn into his father’s battles But unlike his brothers Amras wanted to be king of peace not war.
“This tribe is ancient and old. Old times and old traditions and old hatreds, must never again see the light day. We can be the riches in history and love. We do not need to be evil, like that monster Enchantian, Odem,” Amras would say. But no one would listen, but they would laugh and just dismiss their brother.
He rather read or become one with nature. His favorite was the water, he would often visit and converse with the Nymphs. He always had a great lust and desire for the nymphs themselves. He thought their beauty was more desirable then any ordinary she-elf.
Their skin was so enticing and they were full of life. He loved their hair; it was so golden and radiant. He always felt spellbound when he was around them. He spent a lot of time by the river, not caring about the woes of his father Ethos, or Ethos ambition to rule and take over kingdoms. He wanted peace. Amras wanted to marry one and to be loved by one of the golden Nymphs. He thought that was more desirable then all the starlight gems, his father craved.
His father however disagreed and forbade him to mate with one.
“But father I do desire one of those creatures to love,” Amras said as he stood in front of the great and mighty king Ethos. His mother Nellas sat beside his father.
“When you are king, you will need a strong queen and those things, the fish the mer-maids are not strong,” Ethos implied.
Amras grew angry and he disagreed. He hated when his father called them fish....
“I do not want to be king of this tribe. You have done so many evil things. When I am king things will be peaceful,” Amras said.
Ethos was through debating with Amras. “If you marry that thing, or those fish or whatever you want to call it. If you refuse to continue to persue the endeavors of this kingdom, you’ll simply both be disposed of . I will personally light every fish in this realm on FIRE! Do you HEAR ME!!!!” Ethos shouted. The loud sound of his voice echoed.
Amras believed his father, for moment he had a vision of the fish of the nymphs and their realm on fire. He could not allow that to ever happen. So he gave up.
That made Amras angry. His father was always trying to control him, and his mother never went against the king to defend him. He tried on many different occasions to sabotage his father’s reign with murderous plots. He wanted to place himself on the throne, and start a new tribe , one of peace and love and light. The one just like in the Enchanted realm.
Armas’s grandfather Odem was a great and powerful and evil being and the first king of his father’s tribe. His grandmother Sage was an evil and dark queen. They ruled together and fought together, against peace, against life, agaist Athos and the other Enchantians. They wanted to rule all the sixth feary realms, including the terra plain. Which they belived it was stolen from them by the humans. Odem’s brother was the first Enchantian to be born of the Well water. He ruled the kingdoms of the Golden forest, and the one Athos called Enchantia, for Athos formed it using a magical song, hence Enchantment.
The realm of Enchantia was known to be full of magic and magical beasts and magical gems. Ethos’s, Amras father if he could find this realm , he could control all, the realms from one throne. As well as the fabled magic dust ambrosia, which was made from feary tears. Ethos’s, Amras father searched out and asked many istars to find his way to these realms. Ethos was told he needed to find one to find the other. This was a difficult task, for Sage the queen of the blood sucking elves died before she could tell her son any of her secrets. His father also imprisoned , by his brother, in one of the two realms. None of his Istars or wizards of that age ever came close in finding the hidden realms. Ethos’s wanted to also free his father the monster Odem. But it was all legend and long before Amras time. Amras had no desire to seek out such a monster of destruction. Ethos had high hopes one of his sons would find the realm of starlight gems and magic, someday and rule over all the fairy realms..
But it would not be Amras, he wanted to herald in the peace. He knew the stories of Sage and Odem. He knew since he was the oldest of what could happen if his grandfather was free. He knew where to find the hidden realms. But he deared not tell Ethos.
Amras started plotting with others to overthrow his father. He believed that the old ways and dark magic were a disgrace to the true peace and loving nature of elves. He wanted to bring peace among his people, he wanted to stop the bloodshed and live mutually together in harmony with the human creatures.
Amras was what Athos his great-uncle was waiting for.
But Amras’s plots did not succeed against his father. His father had enough, when Amras failed at an attempt to kill him in his sleep. Amras was then thrown into a cell and tortured like any other prisoner.
His father’s jailers ripped out his fingernails, and tied him down and stretched him until he would reveal his conspirators. But it did not work. Amras would change them into different farm animals and then laugh. He had finally broken the chains with his magic and made his escape.
Too much bloodshed on both sides of the civil war. The Civil war that broke out between the dark ones of his father’s kingdom and the ones fighting against him. The Wood realm elves. Their great king Emos and his young son Luthor failed to be the victor. Ethos was always trying to take over other tribes, ones that believed in peace and ones who were even faithful to the old ways. If they resisted they were all to be burned alive. Amras’s father did not believe in democracy or mercy. If they did not hand over their kingdoms his special forces would make that happen. Ethos as well as Armas knew someone was hiding the Sphere of Creation. It was the key in finding the realms, Ethos saught.
His father Ethos was angered by his escape and his son’s treason. He had Amras hunted down by his evil twin brothers Celebrimbor , Owie.
As far as Ethos was concerned this was an act of weakness and treason, punishable by death. But Amras was a skilled tracker as part wild elf that lived within him from his mother, Nellas. He out- gamed his brothers and escaped unscratched. The chase and the hunt went on for sometime, but in the end the brothers came back empty handed. They were afraid for their own lives.
But his father had different ideas , on who should be punished. He needed his sons, so they could carry on and rule by his side or take over when ethos so choose. Instead of being able to punish Amras for his treason, his mother was executed, in his stead..
Ethos had gotton what he needed from his mate and now , Nellas’ had nothing left to give. Her life was now forfiet.
“Your son has betrayed his own kin and traditions. He tried to plot death against me. I would understand that and respect that if he followed my ways. He wants peace; this cannot. This cannot be my son. Now he has escaped punishment for these crimes,” Ethos announced to Nellas.
The two brothers on each side of the king stood with him as he pronounced sentencing on the she-elf.
“You are guilty for having a disloyal son she-elf, and since the coward escaped, I have no choice but to execute you, “Ethos announced.
Nellas pleaded with her king and her mate not to punish her for her son’s act.
“Please my love, I have only distain for what Amras has done.”Nellas pleaded.
But that did not sway Ethos. He sat on his grand throne. He was beastly looking elven-male, full of hair and , hardly any teeth. The king ordered his guards to throw her down into the bottomless pit.
“Open it, open it now,” He insisted.
The guards did what the king ordered and moved the top rock that covered the hole and now it was open. The guards grabbed the she-elf and brought her to the pit.
Nellas screamed and wrestled with the guards, but to no avail. When the great rock cover was lifted without hesitatation. Down she went;Nellas to her screaming death. The king and his two remaining sons enjoyed the rest of the night with a great feast. More she-elves joined them as well. Ethos never spoke about Armas or their mother ever again. His brothers got a reprieve and they did not get punished for losing track of their brother.
After many years passed, Amras still did not return. However Celebrimor followed suit and finally had his just revenge on his father and he had him tossed into the great bottomless pit. Because he was sickened at what his father did to his mother over his brother. As well as it was his turn to be king. He felt his father was to weak. “I would have continued the hunt for that traitor and killed him without question,” Celebrimbor would often say.
Celebrimbor blamed Amras for the punishment of their mother and vowed he would get justice. Celebrimbor had taken over the tribe of the Cimmerian has king. But he wanted his brother as well. He wanted to spike his head in throne room, next his enemies.
But before he took over the kingdom , he found himself a wife. Her name Aela.
She was as wicked if not more then Celebrimbor. She had aspirations, how to make him a strong king. But celebrimbor did not want that. After giving birth to their sons. Celebrimbor had her to thrown in the bottomless pit. She was no longer useful. But he loved his sons that were born to him and knew they both were going to be great. Predox was born first. He was with magic and Celebrimbor knew he possibly could help find the fabled realms of great power. Then Prognomous, he saw strength and courage and was not frail and weak has Prexdox. He knew it would not be by birth the next king of the dark ones, but strength and wisdom. But declared both be good kings.
The succestion would be decided over series of contest Celebrimbor, declared.
Amras was followed by other defectors from the tribe. They all followed him east into the deepest part of the land. Then a new tribe was born. He called the tribe Redwood after the gigantic Redwood trees in the forest, they settled in.
The choice Amras’s made was not hard, separating himself from his former tribe forever, choosing a life of constant war with them. But when word got to him that his father punished his mother for his act of betrayal. Amras went on a rampage and vowed to revenge her death. He also found that his brother was now king and his father had been put to death as well. Amras was not surprised.
King Amras ruled his Redwood forest peacefully, but with a firm hand. His rule was long. Although he remained kind and loving, he still had the heart of a warrior. He was never able to stay in one place for very long. He loved hunting the silver stag, his people’s most magical creature, the most difficult to catch. He was never able to catch it. However, that was not even the point. But hunting and perusing presented the challenge.
The Redwood people generally looked the same, most had golden long hair, a very few had dark hair. Some like Amras were very tall and slender, with long pointy faces and squinty green eyes and long sharp noses. Amras knew all elves were not evil, it was up to the fates to decide whether you would be an enlightened being or dark being. But some elves went against fate and chose their own path. It was an inner conflict for Amras always, but his good side always triumphed.
King Amras had two life mates, two queens. King Amras first queen Niopie was very beautiful without question. She had long black hair and jewels of all sorts, that covered her crown. She was a little bit small and very slender. She wise beyond her years. But very quiet and sometimes , even Amras thought she was dark. She tried hard to seduce him, and she succeeded. She was a gift sent from Celibrimbor. She was his mates twin sister. But Amras did not know this at first. She came, mysteriously as a refugee , after fires broke out from a village that Celibrimbor had destroyed. At least that was her story.
The evil King tried to use her to lure Amras back, so he could kill him. But that union produced an issue, her name was Morianna. But soon Amras’s mate mysteriously died. Some say the king poisoned her after, he found her to be evil and she tried to drink his blood, others concluded she died because of all the goodness was taking hold of her. Nobody knew, except for Amras.
Amras found himself alone, but not for long. A long time passed and he grew weary of being alone. Morianna, became handful. She was up to mischief all the time. His istar’s and some would complain about fires she would start. Especially after a tantrum.
She would find it quite funny to light the feet of animals on fire. Sometimes the horse would stand on its to hind legs and throw down its masters. He needed to find a wife and maybe a mother that was loving towards Morianna. Then he remembered about how he loved the nymphs when he was a younger elf. So he journeyed to the east, to the unexplored lands where no humans dared lived. In the course of his journey he stumbled upon a golden river where an ancient Elven race of nymphs that lived. He knew it was fate.
He was not expecting this. The nymphs’ she-elves were radiant as the golden sun. The nymphs had skin of silver and hair of golden brown and were considered to be enlightening beings. Amras stayed for a while, he was so taken with one nymph named Capri.
Amras had sat far apart from the banks of the river. He did not want to scare the nymphs. They did not like prying eyes of any kind. Amras did attempt to speak to Capri. But she would just laugh at Amras. She was not interested in him. One day has he just sat and looked at them a golden figure appeared behind him. It was Athos his great uncle. Athos was the king of the fabled Enchantians.
Athos agreed to help Amras win the hand of Capri, in return for a special favor. But he told Amras, he had to promise never to reveal what he was about to speak. “Silence is golden,” Athos said.
Capri came from an ancient elven people, called the Nahara.. Her father was a great god of the nymphs. The king agreed to hand his daughter over, as long as Amras was so grateful in the beauty he was given, that Amras would leave the nymphs territory alone for all time. Then Capri’s father blessed her and gave permission to marry Amras.
What a joy it was in the Redwood kingdom. The wedding was celebrated throughout the realm. But Morianna the oldest daughter was bitter towards her father. Morianna did not want Amras to replace her mother. Morianna had to pretend to be happy. But she was already plotting how to get rid of her new stepmother.
The two joined together. Amras and Capri for all time. The night of wedding , she and Amras made love. It was earth shattering and they could be heard throughout the kingdom. A child was born as Athos told Amras she would be. Her name was Aoni.......
She was the most radiant golden being Amras had ever seen, even more than Capri. But Morianna the king’s first child, grew to resent Aoni. As she did Capri. She felt Capri and her offspring took his favor away from her. For decades she had been the favorite, and now her father favored another.
Their kingdom was kept a secret, but more and more humans were starting to build cottages, deeper and deeper into the woods. So the king and queen put a spell on the woods. For the outsiders, the humans, the kingdom look like a group of tall Redwood trees crusted all together, keeping the forest kingdom concealed and the unwanted away. But to the Redwood elves the kingdom was a majestic and grand.
The palace stood in the middle of a golden brown courtyard all made of the finest Redwood trees. Glorious golden vines entwined the castle walls. Elves were everywhere trading and painting, baking and singing. Two guards stood outside the kingdom’s entrance, they always were on the lookout for the kings enemies or humans. For some lived in fear that one day a human might wander and discover them or even worse the shadow ones. Soon after Aoni was born, Capri died. Aoni had become her father’s most beloved one. But Morianna was envious of her half-sister. She never accepted Aoni.
Aoni was different than any other she- elf. Her skin was the color of golden leaves, her eyes were silver, her hair long and golden as the bark. She was the most beautiful creature her elfish kinsmen ever laid eyes upon. She was so intensely beautiful that the king order a great wall to be built around the castle, for fear of strange eyes looking down upon his daughter.
As she grew through the years her beauty became more magnificent. When she ventured away from the castle she would usually be escorted by Elven guardsmen. She loved nature as well.
Her people cradled nature in the palms of their hands. Aoni was also very kind, much like her mother and father were. She was always loving and so nurturing to the animals.
Aoni liked to wander, and one day while she was riding outside the castle, she saw a bird. The bird flew with ease right into a tree. It had landed on the ground. Aoni dismounted her horse and dead it was. She took it into the palm of her hand and blew gently on it, and it was alive once again. She always found true peace helping the animals of the forest survive. She would even make the lions smile and laugh. That was her favorite of all the animals.
Nature was in love with her, too. Whenever she was in the meadow, flowers would blossom so vividly at the sight of her; the aroma from them; would perfume the air swiftly . The kinsmen knew that Aoni was in the meadow when they could smell the flowers. Now and then the butterflies would follow her everywhere she would go; pink ones, blue ones, big ones and small ones; they would just follow her wherever she went.
She always liked to talk to the mandrakes that would hang down from a tree, or if they were planted in the ground. Although poisonous to eat, she loved to debate with them.
They did not understand how she did it, the people, even the king was so amazed at her accomplishments. Like it was said before, no one, not even the king ever caught the silver stag. However, to the amazement of everyone she did it with only one try. The kingdom celebrated always on mid-summer’s day. As well as every year and they would have a festival in the Autumn, the high time of the Elves. They would call this the Season of the Elves. This time it was in her honor. Aoni was amazed at her own self, she could not believe she could do such wondrous things.
As much as Aoni wanted to keep the animal, she released the stag back into the wild, hoping someday she could relive the hunt. It was forbidden by law to kill the stag or any live animal; so long it was not mortally wounded or it was attacking.
The children in the courtyard would circle her with dance and song as she played them the harp. She always wanted obey her father , but at times she felt stifled by his protection and longed to roam freely. But Amras would not hear of it. Mostly she was confined to the castle grounds and her bed chamber. But the golden and pink butterflies would flutter to her balcony every day, when she was confined.
A golden apple tree was her favorite; it hung right outside of her balcony.
She would stand and watch down below each morning hoping Amras would give his permission to allow her to leave her confines, but she stood there so enjoying the taste of the luscious golden apple. He did allow her to leave from time to time, but on the condition that she was to be guarded at all times especially when she matured into a full she-elf.
The king ordered the guards never to lose sight of her; one of them was name Rothem. They would follow here everywhere, except for when she bathed in the golden stream. They would stay back in the woods at a safe distance and turned their heads. If they looked and the king found out. They could have had their eyeballs removed. They would be listening only for dangers to the princess.
Soon after she matured Aoni showed great power, she was able to conceal herself in an invisible barrier. For anything that was thrown at her, it would bounce off and did no harm her. Morianna even tried to throw a bit of fire toward her way once, it just came right back at her. That left Morianna badly scared on the outside and on the inside. She hated Aoni even more.
Aoni had the ability to captivate the minds of the elfish men, and some say to control it as well. Morianna did not have that talent. Morianna thought it was unfair, for she did not have the beauty of her sister, which
Aoni’s greatest power was her beauty, many elves asked for her hand in marriage. But the king was not going to allow any common elves or warriors to marry his daughter. Besides she was already promised to another.
Aoni also had the most magical voice, and she would sing and hum, and all of the kingdom would be enchanted. The sounds were so magical that some would stand in a trance consumed by the magical melody.
Mostly she was more like her mother, loving the golden stream, especially when she was swimming. It was the only time she felt close to her mother; almost like she could speak with her. At times she would be visited by her grandfather king of the nymphs; Namon.
The king was missing his daughter and was angry with Aoni’s father for allowing her mother to be killed. He knew it was Morianna who slayed his child.
Morianna would watch Aoni , her sister intently over the years growing more jealous. She longed to be as beautiful as Aoni and wished she could be the favorite. Morianna had long black hair with scar that ran from her forehead to her mouth. Her skin was pale and she had a wicked heart.
