Chapter 1
A New Man. An Investor Who Had Joined the Company.
That was the phrase echoing through every corner of Simon Automotive, the electronic car sector giant.
It was rare to strike a deal with someone like Mr. Simon, as the rumors went and almost impossible for an investor in the industry not to have his name whispered within the family circles. But now, this man was walking down the halls of the company itself.
The massive thirty-story headquarters carried the prestigious reputation of the Valperia family. This was the first and main branch.
Head held high, he walked with confidence. His blue eyes fixed straight ahead, his steps steady, his shoulders moving with proud poise. The sharp taps of his luxurious Louis Vuitton shoes echoed, stirring whispers all around him whispers of astonishment, and others from women enchanted by his striking looks.
Then he reached the door.
The door on the 30th floor—solid wood, with golden letters engraved on its surface:
President Simon Valperia
He knocked twice. A voice, deep and rough, came from inside:
"Come in."
Within seconds, he stepped into the office.
A lavish office in every sense of the word, filled with awards and certificates framed in ornate gold.
"Welcome, welcome, Mr. Oleksandr Sera. We are honored by your presence."
The man in the royal green suit, seated at the head desk, greeted him warmly. At his side sat a woman. A woman who did not raise her eyes to his face, nor seemed to register his voice. She simply turned the papers in her hands.
Oleksandr arched a brow, but did not hesitate to extend his hand across the desk.
"Mr. Simon."
He gave a respectful nod. Both men sat down, the conversation beginning without the woman’s participation. Oleksandr furrowed his brows, yet the dark aura surrounding him remained intact. He looked dangerous his deep blue eyes never leaving the man seated across from him.
"Mr. Oleksandr, you know well that my company is no longer in the same condition it once was. Unfortunately, making this public would place me in a disastrous position with the media. That’s why I am truly grateful you accepted my invitation to today’s meeting. I sincerely hope your name will join our annual contribution to the development of our nation’s economy."
Simon spoke at length, pausing between sentences to swallow nervously under the weight of the man’s gaze. Those eyes unnerved him. He didn’t like him and that only heightened his tension.
"
Any further information will be provided by my lawyer, Miss Elialya Ognatova."
He introduced her. She finally raised her eyes toward Oleksandr and gave him a brief nod.
Oleksandr shifted in his seat, glancing at her from the corner of his eye, as though silently assessing her striking features. It took him no more than three seconds to drink in the madness flickering in her dark, obsidian eyes.
"This deal will not go through, Mr. Simon. You do not know how to choose your employees and that does not please me."
He spoke coldly before rising to his feet, casting her a sharp, unreadable look.
A look that told her this meeting would not be their last.
Ever.
