Guilty, for aiding in the end of the world, Natasha, previously respected as Officer N, tries to make things right. Chapter 1

Officer's N POV

I don't stay to witness the end of the world. Things just escalated too quickly. There was no time to anticipate President U's next step, let alone stop it.

Did I really just help end the world? I was blinded by my ambition, fed by my ego, that I did not care to listen to Jaylyn's warnings. All for what? A tap in the back, a promotion, for my name to be written in the history books? President U is wrong. My name would not be in the history books because our world has no future.

Jaylyn was right. She was right not to trust anyone.

I was wrong to trust my superiors. I can't even trust them with my taxes, how could I trust them with the fate of our existence. How could we rush to destroy something we don't understand? Something so clearly divine.

Was it an Angel?

What are the consequences of harming God’s anointed? How can I live with the fact that I am partly responsible for the atrocities against God, Earth and humankind?

I run to the bathrooms, I don't even care if it's the men's or female bathrooms. I just want to lock myself in the stall.

I start to breathe when I shut the door. I did not know I was holding my breathe.

I feel so much shame. So much FEAR.

When I saw the being with my own eyes, I did not feel threatened. I did not feel panicked. I felt reverence. I still feel it.

I look out the window.

The sun is rising. How when it's only 3 am?

The start of our consequences. The world is beginning to fall apart.

If Jaylen was right about this, maybe she can help fix it.

I gather myself and walk out of the bathroom. I make my way to Jaylyn's holding room.

I'm surprised to see no guard around. I am even more stunned to see that it is vacant.

I walk around the entire floor, and there's no sign of anybody.

Did the rapture just take place?

"Where's Jaylyn," I ask the first military officer I bump into

"It is out of your jurisdiction," he says to me

"Nonsense. I rank higher than you," I remind me.

"You do not work here anymore," he reminds

"Who gave the order to have her moved?" I ask

If he will not tell me where she is, he can at least tell me who took her.

"Who else but the president. but between us I don't think she will make it," he hints out

"When was the order made." I ask

"Before you left for the viewing," he said.

Why kill her? Jaylyn is one of the most intelligent minds we have. She built a telescope that can see into the 4th dimension. She hid all her work in her parent's grave, with not a single camera capturing her movements from her office, to home to the grave site.

She is a prodigy. She can help undo it. Why would he eliminate her at this critical time.

Did the president plan for this all along?

"It's been a long night. Go home and rest," he says to me

Rest? How can I? I would dream about what I saw and different ways the world could end. Life is no longer the dream. I've had nightmares less scarier than this
