One advantage Banished (Book 2) has over Book 1 is the emphasis on pure plot as the more mundane character backgrounds are already established. Really loving all the new characters, the shifting dynamics between previously introduced characters, and the growing depth of those characters forced by precarious decision making. This author has the potential to be exceptional. "
