Summary

"Not even a day has passed and you're already snooping around my stuff, Miss Solis." " I-I wasn't snooping." She said flolding her arms across her chest. "That's exactly what someone who had been snooping would say." He said to her leaning against the door arms crossed. "As if anyone would want to snoop around your stuff." She said rolling her eyes. "Oh really." He said walking toward her eyes never leaving her's as he stood in front of her one hand in his pocket the other at his side. "Then why are you way over here when your side is way over there." He said as he pointed towards the right side of the room.

Room 228

Arrival at room 228

Mira Solis stood outside of the door her suitcase in one hand fingers hovering over the handle, she had memorized every name on the student registry except one. Eiden Moretti. No photo, No academic record. Just a name and a room number: 228.

Inside, someone was playing chess. She could hear the soft clink of chess pieces on the board. She knocked no answer. She opened the door and there he was seated by the window concentrated on the board one hand on a knight the board was mid game but no oppenents.

"You're late." He said without looking up.

Mira blinked "I didnt realized puntuality was graded here." She said as she rest her suitcase on the floor next to her bed.

He then turned slowly like he was measuring her. His eyes unreadable. Not cold. Not warm. Just... watching.

"Everything is graded here," he said. "Even silence."

Mira just stared at him blankly then she started unpacking her things in silence, noting the lack of personal things on his side of the room. No photos. No books. Just the chessboard and a single leather-bound journal. She had been assigned to room 228 for a reason. The faculty said it was random but she knew better.

Eiden Moretti was a ghost in the system. And ghosts didn't end up in elite schools by accident.

It was afternoon by the time Mira finished unpacking and Eiden already left after playing chess. She thought to herself "Since he's not here i might as well do some digging as to why he has no academic records." She sat on her bed and opened her computer and she started typing away. Two hours passed and she found nothing she closed her computer and layed back down on the bed in frustration.

No records. No photo. Nothing. Who are you really Eiden Moretti ? She said sitting up as her eyes wander back to the leather- bound journal she saw earlier on his desk. She started walking towards the journal as if captivated by it, her fingers slightly brush across the edges of it.

"My dear Eiden lets see what secrects you're hiding in here." She said as her fingers reach to open the journal suddenly the door open as Eiden walks in closing it behind him. Mira jumps back in surprise as if struck by lightning.

"Not even a day has passed and you're already snooping around my stuff, Miss Solis."

"I-I wasn't snooping." She said flolding her arms across her chest.

"I was looking for something and i've found it now no need to get all up and personal in my face" she said as she turned away from him and went back to her side of the room and layed down on her bed covering her face with a pillow.

" I was so close but he just had to come at the wrong time." She thought to herself.

"Weird". He said to himself as he took his journal from his desk, put it into his drawer and lock it still a bit suspicious as to why she was so close to it.

Night came and the rain started falling heavily outside. Mira layed awake listening to the rain tap against the window, Eiden suddenly spoke.

"If you're here to watch me," he said sitting up watching her from across the room voice low, "tell your handler i dont play games."

Mira sat up slowly "Good," she whispered. "Because i do".
