The Batcave Cookie Incident

Summary

In the quiet, post-dinner stillness of the Batcave, a single chocolate chip cookie becomes the ultimate prize. When Luna, a young and resourceful member of the Bat-Family, claims it, she finds herself in a high-stakes standoff with two formidable opponents: Jason Todd and Damian Wayne. What begins as a petty squabble over a baked good quickly escalates into a full-blown chase through the cavernous headquarters. Agility and wit are put to the test as all three characters vie for the golden-brown trophy, proving that in this family, even the smallest conflicts can have the biggest consequences.

The Cookie Incident

The kitchen was quiet—too quiet. Everyone had cleared out of the dining room in the Batcave after dinner, but on the counter sat a single chocolate chip cookie. Warm and golden, it filled the cave with its rich aroma.

Luna’s eyes locked onto the prize. Her fingers twitched as she calculated her approach.

With reflexes honed from months of training with the Bat Family, Luna lunged forward and snatched the cookie.

“Mine now,” she declared triumphantly, clutching it like a trophy. The satisfying weight in her palm felt like victory—until the thundering of boots echoed behind her.

“Unhand that cookie immediately,” Damian barked, circling to cut her off. Jason loomed beside him.

“Back off, demon spawn, I’ve had my eyes on that thing all evening,” Jason growled.

Under the harsh fluorescence, shadows danced across their faces. Jason’s leather jacket creaked as he shifted forward while Damian's clenched jaw twitched with restrained fury.

“Too slow, boys,” Luna teased, twirling the cookie between her fingers. “Maybe if you weren’t so busy with your petty arguments, one of you would’ve gotten here first.” The chocolate chips glinted under the light like treasure.

Jason sneered. “Clever girl. But you’ve forgotten a key detail.”

“You’re outnumbered,” Damian finished. “And in a cave full of bats.”

They advanced in sync, every movement precise from years of combat training. Above them, stalactites waited patiently, unmoved judges to the cookie-fueled standoff.

Luna drew in a breath and shouted, “Alfred! Help!”

Her voice echoed through the cavern. Both Jason and Damian froze as the elegant butler appeared in the doorway, his footsteps soft on the stone floor.

“Another dispute over baked goods?” Alfred’s dry tone carried both amusement and resignation.

“She stole what was rightfully mine!” Damian and Jason said at the same time.

“I took what was abandoned,” Luna snapped back, clutching the cookie like a shield. “Where’s Bruce? He’ll set things straight.”

“Master Bruce is currently occupied with case files,” Alfred replied evenly. “Perhaps this can be resolved without disturbing him?”

His raised eyebrow said everything that needed to be said—everyone knew better than to bother Bruce at this hour.

“Yeah, let’s not get the old man involved,” Jason muttered. “Besides, I’d hate for him to see his son and protégé being bested by a cookie thief.”

“You’re so insufferable,” Luna grumbled, backing slowly away, keeping both boys in her sight.

With a grin, she sprang upward with her agility, grabbing a nearby pipe one-handed while bringing the cookie to her mouth with the other.

“Looks like I win, boys,” she sang.

Jason lunged, growling, while Damian flanked from the side, both of them reaching for her dangling legs.

“This is your final warning,” Damian said, voice dangerously low.

“Don’t bite that cookie,” Jason echoed. Their voices bounced off the stone walls, startling a cluster of bats into flight overhead.

Alfred remained in the doorway, unmoving. Watching. Unimpressed.

Luna hesitated, then sighed. “Fine. Three pieces. We share?”

She lowered herself slightly, though still keeping the cookie out of their reach. The proposal hung in the air like the bats above them.

Jason squinted. “Share? Little Miss ‘I Get What I Want’ wants to negotiate now?”

“A suspicious change of heart,” Damian said, narrowing his eyes. “But acceptable.”

Luna muttered under her breath, “I hate you both so much.”

Then, in a flash, she sprang into motion. Taking advantage of their lowered guards, Luna slipped between Alfred’s legs and darted deeper into the cave, cookie clutched triumphantly in her hand. Her laughter echoed off stone walls.

Jason and Damian cursed and gave chase, boots pounding. “Luna!” “Stop running!”

Alfred sighed quietly and adjusted his tie.

“Can’t catch me!” Luna shouted gleefully as she scaled the rock wall, wedging the cookie between her teeth to free her hands. From the ledge, she smirked down at her pursuers.

“Get down here and fight fair,” Jason growled.

Still grinning, the cookie between her teeth, Luna leaned forward to mock them. But the shift in balance sent the cookie tumbling from her mouth.

“No!” she gasped, diving for it. For a heartbeat, she was airborne. But her timing was off. She hit the ground with a painful thud, arms outstretched—just too late. The cookie landed inches beyond her fingertip.

Right where Jason now stood. He plucked the cookie out of the air before it could land and took a victorious bite. “Sweet, delicious victory.

Thanks for the hand-delivery.” Luna groaned on the floor, reaching toward him, more wounded by the lost cookie than by pain.

“No fair…” she pouted.Damian crouched beside her, his earlier fury tempered with concern. “That was an impressively poor display of judgment. Are you injured?”

Luna took his offered hand and stood, brushing off dust and ego alike. “I’m fine. Just... needed a breath.”

Jason chewed smugly nearby. “You’re lucky nothing’s broken. That fall? Spectacularly clumsy.”

Red-faced, Luna snapped, “Shut up! I’m graceful—just... miscalculated.”

Jason chuckled. “Maybe stick to ground-level cookie theft next time, princess.”

She turned away, shoulders slumped in defeat. The cookie was gone, but what stung more was her pride. She slid down against the cave wall and folded into herself.

“I should have stuck that landing…” Damian approached, more cautiously this time.

He knelt beside her. “Everyone makes mistakes,” he said quietly. “That’s how we learn.” His voice was softer than usual, the gesture so uncharacteristic that Luna looked up in surprise.

“Tomorrow morning,” Damian continued, “we’ll perfect that maneuver. Training starts at dawn, so... rest up.”

And with that, he stood and walked off beside Jason, leaving Luna alone in the quiet of the Batcave, her thoughts echoing louder than the rest.
