Chapter 1

Rose

Today marks the beginning of my college journey. I'll be living in a shared dorm room. I arrived this morning, unpacked my things and noticed my roommate had not shown up, yet. After settling in, I decided to head to campus a little early.

I wonder who my roommate would be...

Everything at college said to be unfolding smoothly-new faces, fresh routines, and sense of excitement-until I saw him...

-Josh Conway

The very person who shattered my heart-and with it, my respect for him. Despite it being the first day, he had already been named captain of the football team. With his towering frame, broad shoulders, chisled jawline and those piercing brown eyes he was the centre of attraction. Practically half the campus-boys included-seemed captivated by him.

During lunch in the cafeteria his table was formed by girls eagerly begging for his number, selfies, autograph... The unusual nonsense. Blah blah blah. But honestly? I couldn't care less about him.

The day otherwise unfolded quite nicely I even made a new best friend-Emma. She is incredibly kind.

I was back in my dorm room. I assumed my roommate was in the shower so I sat on my bed, casually scrolling through my phone.

Suddenly, the bathroom door creaked open-and to my utter disbelief, out walked a guy.

A towel hung dangerously low around is hips, low enough to reveal sharp v-line and perfectly sculpted abs. His shoulders broad, defined. Another towel was in his hand as he ran it through his damp hair, concealing most of his face.

I froze. My throat tightened as a swallowed hard-and rush of warmth spread through me.

Oh my God... This might be the best thing that's ever happened to me. The thought flash through my mind like lightning-unfiltered, shameless, and all too real.

But then just like that, everything changed.

My eyes locked on to his, and a wave of fury surged through me. My jaw clenched tight, rage bubbling beneath the surface.

It was him.
