Chapter 1
Chapter one (Alishia)
The first time I saw him was when he moved in next door. He was jacked and he did everything himself. No movers, no big trucks. Just him and his F150. I didn’t know his name, or what he did for work, or if he had family. I just knew what he looked like. I’m pretty sure he saw me staring at him the first day. After that I got smart. I used my high definition cameras to spy on him throughout the day. So you can tell how excited I was when he came over with some leftover pizza from probably the night before and asked if he could sleep in my basement until his bed was moved in. I asked him where he had been sleeping and he said the floor wasn’t very comfortable. I said I don’t have anything in my basement, however he could sleep on my couch and use my shower.
My name is Alishia Manning and I’m 5 feet and 4 inches and 140 pounds. Pretty small for my age. I am 37 but look 24. I have brown eyes, brown skin, brown hair. I have brown everything and was made by brown everything. Jake is the guy I was talking about before, the super jacked guy. Yeah, well. I now know how he is so jacket. I walked downstairs this morning in my pajamas not remembering he was downstairs until I saw him doing pushups in my living room. When he saw me staring he stopped. Stood up and walked over to me with this menacing look. Grabbed me by both my arms and legs and started by scrupling me while walking me over to the kitchen. I think he got seven or eight reps in until we got to the kitchen and then he gently set me down on the counter. So I asked him what he did for work and he said he was a firefighter.
My father is the chief of the firehouse right close to where I live and I’ve heard him talking about how they have this super decorated captain from Minnesota coming to work at the fire station. After he makes coffee for both me and him he says thank you and then he leaves for work. At this point it’s about 5:30 in the morning and I now have to also get to work. I’m a dispatcher that works in the same firehouse as my dad. The firehouse is one of the busiest there is in our city so the city council just decided to upgrade it even more so now we have 2 different call centers. And one is built into station 129.
Chapter two (Alishia)
As I walk into work I see him. He is getting to know his crew and they are all laughing and look like they are having fun. Shift change is in about 30 minutes so I go upstairs and drop all of my stuff in my office and walk downstairs to the conference room for the daily supervisor and leadership meeting at 6:30. I am the shift supervisor so I am the best of the best. By the time I finish chatting with everyone it’s time to start the meeting. Jake is the last one in and as soon as he sees me he gets the same malicious smile he had earlier. I kind of like it. The whole meeting I can’t stop thinking about him carrying me like that this morning and how he’s had a bed for almost 2 days now but still hasn’t moved into his own house. Always has excuses as to why he doesn’t want to sleep at his house. I don’t mind him sleeping at my place and I think he knows it.
Nothing is really said over the meeting and then after the meeting m y dad introduced me to Jake and Jake looks embarrassed that he’s been sleeping at his chief’s daughter’s house. We were then left alone and he said he would sleep at his own house the next night and then i said in a seductive voice while playing with his chin
“ but what if i love you sleeping at my house”
“Well then maybe i will stay”
And then I went in for a kiss.
And he kissed me hard and slammed my back against a cool brick wall and i could feel his hands trailing all over my body like he already owned me and as he made his way to my back the bells went off as there was a structure fire and as he left he told me
“We will have to finish this season later.” and he went on running. All the new boys always want me until they find out that I’m the chief’s daughter then I’m left alone and it’s kind of annoying because I’ve never actually had a relationship that lasted more than a shift. But Jake’s different. I don’t know what’s going on in his head and it’s kind of annoying. But all I know is I had a smile bigger than I ever had as he ran away from me towards his squad truck.
Chapter 3 (Jake)
““Well then maybe I will stay” That’s the last thing before I kissed her.” said Jake to his crew on the way to a three story confirmed commercial fire.
“You’re insane” one of the firefighters in the back yelled over the headset. “Kissing the chief’s daughter in the firestation, Do you have a death wish?
“Are you trying to get fired on the first day?” yelled the engineer
“Im not going to get fired” jake says confidently
“You sure about that, I saw a probie get washed out for looking at her wrong” Yelled the more senior firefighter of his crew
“I don’t believe it” says jake
“I dare you to ask the chief” says the senior firefighter
“So when do we get the probie?” says the lieutenant of the truck
“I don’t know. I’ve been here for 5 minutes” says Jake, “however you should know.”
“30 SECONDS OUT” Yelled the engineer over the radio
“Well i was never told” the lieutenant yelled back at Jake as they arrived at the fire.
Chapter 4 (Alishia)
I checked my watch, and at 4:30am it was early quiet.
“They are still not back” I said to myself as I was walking out of the firehouse. “They are taking forever on this fire, wow”
Shift change is done and over with for the dispatchers and firemen don’t change for another half hour. It’s also quite dark. Only every third light is on. I can’t see the other side of the bay. I’m the only person downstairs in the common rooms.
BEEP, BEEP, BEEP
I rush over to the window and see him hopping out of his truck and when he sees me he has a different smile. The way his mouth curves and his eyes look, it almost looks like he wants to own me. I get butterflies. I decided to wait by his car since I specifically parked right next to his car.
“Hi,” I said as soon as I saw him. I don’t want to run to him because that would definitely be giving off signals. I want to keep him on his toes but I really want to kiss him.
“Hello” he says back and he gets in his car and drives away.
“Well that was rude. What the heck. Does he not like me anymore.” I had thoughts racing in my head as I got in my car and tried to chase after him but he pulled away too fast once we got onto the freeway going home and I couldn’t catch up with him. However there was no traffic at 5 am. I didn’t want to risk the police. I saw him get off at an exit and then take a right so I followed. He took 3 rights and one left and then I thought I recognized the neighborhood.
“THIS IS MY NABOURHOOD, WHERE THE ACTUAL FUCK IS HE GOING!?” I yell at the top of my lungs
Now I’m fully awake and alert. He makes another Left turn and then turns into my driveway. Not his, mine. This is actually insane. I pull up and stop. Before i get out of my car door he opens my front door
“How does he have keys?” I ask myself under my breath. Too angry to think I start power walking to my door and as I walk in he grabs me.
Chapter 5 (Jake)
“That was a great fire guys.” says Jake on their way home. “Hey, do you know if the chief has a key to Alishia’s apartment.?”
I would think so, says the senior firefighter why?
Because i asked for consent to be with his daughter and he said yes
“YOU DID WHAT?” yelled the engineer as he slams on the breaks making the squad truck go from 70 KM/H to 0 KM/H in less than 1 second.
“What? Should I have not?”
“NO everyone” yelled in unison as they turn to look at the captain in disbelief
“Yeah, he even made a joke about firefighters always being uptight and scared about his daughter. He also suggested I ghost her for a few minutes to make her mad.
“Well then, we don’t need gas but if we go get gas it would make us the last ones back”teases the engineer”
Perfect lets do it, and then when we get back, no one say anything to alishia”
“Yes cap,” everyone says at the same time with smiles on their faces bigger than they’ve ever been in a while
Chapter 6 (Alishia)
He grabs me by my hands and throws me against the door as it closes. He throws my hands above my head to let out a small squeal of surprise and he goes in for a kiss and I kiss him hard. We eventually keep kissing as he carries me upstairs and then he throws me on my couch in my room where all my dirty laundry is and he walks into the bathroom and turns on the shower and yells “are you coming or not.” When I tell you I got up off the couch and had my clothes off faster than the speed of light, I mean it. When I walked into the bathroom he had the lights turned down and some calming music going.
Chapter 7 (Alishia)
When I woke up in the morning he wasn’t in bed. I looked around for him and couldn’t find him. I don’t even remember getting out of the shower. I walk downstairs and he’s sitting at the kitchen table on his computer. When I ask him what he’s doing he quickly closes a tab and says he’s looking at the weather for the next week and he only sat down like a minute ago. The bacon and eggs he made are somewhat cold but still hot enough to eat so I don’t say anything. As soon as I sit down, he gets a call.
“Hell chief, how’s your morning going? Oh, yes chief. I will be there right away. Of course chief. I will call them on the way in. See you soon chief. Bye”
Early call in, I thought you’re not on call or working today.” I say
I’m not supposed to be” he says with a little bit of sass as he leans in for a kiss and grabs his computer
“Enjoy your food” he yells as he runs out into the yard.
A few seconds later he comes back in. “I need you to move your car please” and i remember last night so i grab my keys and i walk out with him and ask him what happened after the shower and he says i fell asleep in his arms and he had to finish washing me, change me into pj’s put me to bed then get back in the shower and finish with him. I felt a little embarrassed as i got into the car and moved it as he backed up right after me and threw on his red lights and sirens and headed to the station
