Chapter 1
The Start l~
Author’s POV
This story is from one of the most important city of india, but it is very underrated — Dhanbad, Jharkhand.
Class – 5 ‘C’
Mahnoor’s POV
Today ma’am told us that she will change our seating arrangement. God knows better who I will have to sit with now — probably some alien.
Our teacher entered the class
Everybody stood and greeted her. After that, she took our attendance and then, after finishing, she randomly started to change our places.
I was lost in my thoughts when I noticed a girl who was staring at me. She was Ekaksha — the one who does a bit of everything with me: academics, dance, musical instruments, story writing, drawing, origami — whatsoever is there.
According to me, she does not have any friends, just like me. But she’s cute.
“Noor! Mahnoor!” I heard someone calling my name. It was my teacher.
“Go, sit with Ekaksha.”
Oh, right — Ekaksha was her name!
I took my water bottle and school bag and settled beside my new partner.
As I took out my pencil pouch, Ekaksha gasped so hard that if she would put a little more strength, she could have swallowed all my hair inside her mouth.
“You know BTS?!” she asked so excitedly, and yet her voice was so soft and sweet, like a toddler.
“Ye-Yeah,” I answered, her voice almost taking me away with her cuteness.
“Who is your bias?!” she asked again with the same enthusiasm.
“Jungkook. And yours?” I said, trying to match her energy.
“Mine is Taehyung ” she replied, again very softly, softly.
“Please, can you give me your pouch?”
“Yes, just don’t give it to anyone else,” she said so softly, as if I could hand over all my property to her. But unfortunately, I didn’t have any to give.
(Few years later)
Many years have now passed, and me and Ekku— yes, that’s the nickname I’ve given to Ekaksha, so now bear with it. Where was I? Oh yes — our bond is now very strong. We, together, took part in many things and even won prizes and medals.
Now Class 6 has ended, and Class 7 is soon going to start. I am very sad that this is going to be our last year in Carmel School. But I am equally excited that we are together going to the same school. That too, CBSE board — it’s gonna be a piece of cake for us because we’ve been district toppers since Class 6. ~~~

《Author’s POV》
Class-6'C'
The whole corridor was filled with students, as everybody was there to see the fight between the most powerful, famous, rich, and good-looking boys: Ash and Ujjwal
“Pow! Dishum! Pow! Kick! Kick!”
“Principal Sir is coming!” someone shouted.
In a few seconds, everybody rushed back to their classes, leaving only Ash and Ujjwal behind. The Principal arrived and stopped the fight.
“Mr. Khan, Mr. Rajvansh, in my cabin now!” said the Principal authoritatively, yet calmly. And then he left.
“Look, if you don’t want our fathers to know about this, then pretend that we’re best friends and that it was just a friendly game—nothing more,” said Ash while putting his arm over Ujjwal’s shoulder.
Ash smirked, “Okay, but don’t you dare say anything about my sister. I’ll explain why she’s always getting special treatment,” said Ujjwal taking Ash’s arm off his shoulder.
In the Principal’s Office
“So, what you mean is that you two are best friends and that this cheap chaos was just a friendly fight?!” the Principal asked sarcastically.
“Okay, if you don’t want to believe it, then don’t. I don’t care. But if you dare to call Mr. Rajvansh, then better look for a new job,” said Ash aggressively and authoritatively. He was furious seeing the lowly Principal acting so high and mighty in front of him.
Ujjwal, however, was a little scared while listening to the idea of calling their fathers.
Ash was confident—that meant his father was not going to pick up the call. His father had only given one phone number because of the security rules laid down by the government for MPs. And Ujjwal knew it.
“Give me your phone. I need to make a call,” said Ash.
“To whom?” asked the Principal.
“My secretary,” Ash replied.
The Principal, after a moment’s hesitation, agreed. Ash talked to his secretary outside the cabin and then handed the phone back. After a couple of minutes, the Principal received a notification, and he let the boys go.

Ujjwal’s POV
“What did they talk about?” I asked Ash.
“Promise me that you won’t tell this to anybody. Only then I’ll tell,” said Ash, offering his hand to me.
I held his hand and said, “Promise.”
“I asked my secretary to transfer some money to shut his mouth.”
“O accha! Thank you very much,” I said with a smile. “Let’s be friends!” I proposed.
Happily, he replied to my proposal.
“Now tell me about your sister?” asked Ash.
“Oh, my sister? She has severe asthma, and she can get asthma attacks anytime, "
I said sadly, “Oh, I am so sorry, yaar! I didn’t know about it,” Ash apologized.
“Thik ab, aur haan, thank you for helping me, otherwise I would have been grounded for two to three weeks,” I said, rubbing the back of my neck.
“Arey yaar, ab thik hai na. Bach gaya na tu ab,chal class chal nhi to wo ma’am se bhi sunna padega,” Ash said with a smile.
// End of Ujjwal’s POV //
Days passed, and now it was time for the final-term examinations of Class 8.
