Loss or Gain

KALIYAH’S POV:

Im kaliyah and im almost eightteen years old only a few more hours left (thank the moon goddess). ive been what you would call and unwilling guest at the grayden pack for the past ten years, and its not been rain bows and butterflies for me. More like whips and chains and other things . But besides all that in a few hours ill be getting my wolf and be able to shift and hopefully leave this place.

Ive been told that for years now the day i turned eighteen that i would no longer be of use to this pack and id be thrown out. I guess that was suppose to hurt my feelings but it doesnt i despise this place. I try not to get my hopes to high though that might just be another way to tournament me.

I head out to get ready getting together everything i need to make this packs day run smooth and try to stay out of sight. Most days id be able to get by and not be seen others i was unsuccessful and thats when they would have there “fun with me” they would say. I seen no fun in any of this my body would ache for days after there “fun” there was times i was hurt so badly i couldnt walk or lay down flat on my back.

Today didnt start out like it normally did and i knew that id be seen unfortunately, noone was normally up when i was but i guess sinve its getting closer to me being eightteen they wanted to grant me there presence. As im cleaning and cooking the breakfast i hear someone sneaking up behind me, the sent made my knees weak and my heart race, i turn and i see a tall dark haired wolf he smiles at me his eyes blavk as the night , he slowly walks up to me blocking me from being able to move out of his path.

Hey there kaliyah, his voice low and husky, not the normal tone something was off

Good morning future alpha Cole, is there something i can help you with i say looking away from his eyes, my heart still racing in my chest.

A deep growl escapse his lips and the only word he speaks is MATE!!!! My mouth falls open my heart feels like its stopped.

NO …… this cant be right!!! I stutter out.. He looks taken aback like my words have hurt him.

(Cole was the only wolf that has ever been nice to me in the terrible place but the moon goddess must be absolutely out of her damn mind if she thinks this is okay his parents and whole pack hates me and abused me for years how could this be okay how is this fair?! )

“Kaliyah”.. he says his tone pleading

“im sorry i ….. this … this cant be… we …. No i….” im unable to finish what im about to say as he covers my mouth with his hand

“Please kaliyah don’t.” his voice breaking as he stops me from speaking. He slowly removes his hand from my mouth.

“Kaliyah this is weird for me too but please ive never been mean to you ive never hurt you.” His eyes was back to there normal golden brown color the look of sorrow and pain in his eyes. “Please dont reject me.!!” He says pain etched on his face.

“Cole this isnt…. Your family…” im unable to think of what to say i sigh letting out a ragged breath.

“Kaliyah i… i’m not gonna reject you i cant.” He says letting out a low angered growl.

“Cole you know that if your family finds out they will be furious and who knows what they will do.” I say looking into his eyes.

“I dont care what they say kaliyah the moon goddess has choosen you for me and…. And to hell with what they think!!!” He says moving away a little his breath ragged.

“I couldnt reject you if i wanted to roght now i dont have my wolf” i say looking away from him

“So you dont want me as your mate” cole breaths. I see pain and hurt flash on his face. He grabs at his heart. My heart feels the pain as well i whimper

“I didnt mean it like that i…. Im sorry…. I dont mean to cause you pain please…” i try to fix the hurt i just caused him i geab at him and my fingers feel like small bolts of electricity are running through them.

“So you do want me??” He say grabing my hand causing the tingling to increase.

“Im confused i dont know!” I start to try and back away not being able to think straight. Then my wolf finally speaks “he is our mate he will protect us from them” i hear her she settles me a little.

“Kaliyah i….” He hesitates “ how do i show you that i wont deceive you??” He grabs me trying to reason with me.

Before i could speak i catch a figure in the corner of my eye. Its coles girlfriend. Her face is filled with rage. “Umm cole?” I say pointing at his girlfriend.

He looks over his shoulder, seeing his girlfriend, his eyes widen. shock and something else that I can’t decipher anger maybe flash in his eyes. The poor girl looks so angered and heart broken.

“What in the actual fuck is going on here cole??” She questions him. Annoyance crosses his face as he moves away from me and closer to her. “Ive found my mate cassie whats your problem we had an agreement remember!”

“You have got to be fucking joking the pathetic meaningless maid is your mate!!” She laughed not realizing how close to death shes getting.

“Cole” i say feeling his anger grow as she speaks, he turns to look at me, i shake my head trying to grab him pulling him bavk to me. I feel him relaxe under my touch.

Cassie stomps her foot. “ quit playing games and lets go back upstairs where you belong in bed with me not down here woth the help.”

“CASSIE!!! Cole yells using his alpha tone, “this isnt a game we are done ive found my mate now leave before i have you thrown out of my pack house” he says his voice angry his tone left no room for discussion.

She turns away yelling in anger “your gonna regret this cole grayden”

He turns his focuse back to me “is that enough proof for you to know that i want you as my mate” he say placing his hands on my shoulders.

“Cole” a tear pricks at my face as i say his name he whips it away” shhh please dont say anything ill… ill give you some space and time to think and process all this” i nod my head and watch him turn away and head back up to his room i can feel his worry and pain as he leaves.

I turn back and try to block out everything that just happened and finish the breakfast everything thats happened has put me way behind. I finally get done as soon as the luna and alpha (coles parents) enter the dinning area i set there plates and stand in the cornor as the rest of the house hold joins in.

Cole is the last to make his entrance and its hard not to watch him i turn to look away and i can feel his eyes on me as he sits woth his family. My wolf os now cussing me for not accepting him roght away and taken whats hers. As i stand in the cornor watching them all lost in a back and forth fight woth my wolf im shaken out of my thoughts by a plate shattering inches away from my head. Cole stand us his fist clinching so toght his knuckles turn white. I look over at his father whos seathing woth rage. “ are you deaf you dumb bitch?!!” He yells. “Im sorry alpha” i say leaning down picking up the shaddered plate. “Leave it” he booms “get out of my sight” i stop picking up the peices and hurry out the dinning area and head to the kitchen and clean up the breadast mess and i hear cole and his father going bavk and forth. Moments later i hear the kitchen door swing open and i turn to see cole and his father.

“Do it” his father says cole looks up at his father”no i cant please dad dont make me” he pleaded “NOW!!! He commanded. “Kaliyah i…im sorry” cole says his pain causing me to tear up.

I Cole grayden of the grayden pack……. He hesitates.

Please alpha dont i pleaded feeling my heart starting to break. “I don’t accept!!” . I yell out before cole could finish.

The alpha lets go of cole and walks over to me grabbing me by my throat i gaspe for air. “You will accept the rejection or ill take your life” he says through his teeth. My vision starts going in and out and i hear ringing in my ears . In a split second im thrown across the room and i hear fighting images of cole and his father fighting flash in and out until darkness invades me and i dont hear andything but silence.
