Chapter 1 - Last month of school

Ezra panicked as soon as she wake up and saw the time on the clock. "Sh*t!" She muttered to herself. Why the hell didn't her alarm wake her up? She grabbed her cellphone to check only to realized she didn't activate the alarm. Even if she hurried to the bus stop now to catch the next bus in five minutes, she will still be fifteen minutes late but if she fails, she was going to  be probably nearly an hour late.

Not wanting to fail at all cost, she grabbed the discarded clothes from the day before since she had no time to go through her entire wardrobe to look for something suitable. She rushed to the bathroom, brushed her teeth in record time, grabbed her emergency toiletteries purse before rushing out of her tiny apartment like the whole building was on fire.

She saw people were already boarding the bus but as soon as she got to the bus, the doors closed. Desperately she pounded on it and pleaded to the driver to open the door. Only for the bus driver to shout at her "Hey, are you trying to break the doors or what?" Ezra pleaded "I'm sorry but please open up" The bus suddenly drove a few meters from her and opened the doors. She runned to catch it but the driver drove away again. This continued a few times before the bus driver drove away laughing alongside the few passangers in the bus who found it totally funny.

Ezra shook her head as she thought of how cruel and unkind humans can sometimes be. As soon as she raised her head she saw a taxi approaching, left with no option, she almost jumped infront of the Taxi.

Angrily the driver pressed the brake to stop the car before he angrily asked "Do you have a death wish or something?" Ezra's eyes were watery as she explained "I am sorry Sir but I missed my bus and I am desperate. Please how much will it cost if you drop me at the Hannover Central University?" The driver looked at her quietly as she added "I am sorry Sir but I have an examination in a few minuites" at that, the elderly man replied "Hop in" As soon as Ezra hopped in the front seat of the Taxi, she heard her phone continously beeping. She told the taxi driver "Thanks" as she fasten her seat belt. He nodded as he explained "I am switching on the meter now" She silently prayed that it wouldn't cost more than thirty Euros eventhough she had fifty Euros plus coins in her wallet, it was all she had until she goes to do tutoring in the weekend. Luckily, the Müllers pay her cash every weekend after tutoring their two sons. "Yes Sir" she responded pretending she was not in the least worried about the money.

She preoccupied herself by checking on her cellphone. She had two messages from one of her best friends Linda who was also an international student and a black American  "Where are you Small E?" She replied  looking calm "I  missed the bus but I am in a taxi coming" Her friend sent a shock emoji before typing "Did you win a lottery?" She smiled as she replied "I wish" with a smiling emoji. Another message beep "Elke and I have already reserved a seat in between us in the first row for you" She quickly replied "Thanks guys" with love emoji.

Just like that, within a blink of an eye, the taxi arrived at the C hall where they were having their examination. Eventhough, the meter read fifty-five Euros, she thank the driver as she took her change and took off.

At the entrance of the hall, she adjusted her huge glasses as she followed behind a group of students. Mr. Ekkehard suddenly said as he watched the time on the watch on his wrist "Sit down or get the hell out of my lecture hall. I will not repeat myself. I have an examination to conduct" As soon as Ezra took the seat the girls had reserved for her, Elke's eyes shone with relief as she whispered "Thank God, we were begining to worry" Ezra smiled as she wiped her face from the sweat "Thanks guys"

All of a sudden, they heard a slammed on a table. Everyone's attention was turned to a few rows behind them. However, their views were blocked by the backs of a group of campus mean rich girls. No one in the class was surprised when Sybille stood up from her seat to move away but suddenly fell down, stood up quickly and still rushed to take a seat at the far back as some students laughed.

Mr. Ekkehard spoke into the speaker infront of him "What the hell just happened?" Quickly the group leader, Wilhelmina answered "Sybille didn't want to sit with us so she moved to the back" Finding that hard to beleive Mr. Ekkehard asked "Sybille, is that what happened?" All the girls turned to look at her. Looking very scared, she nodded as she said "Yes, Sir" However, it was clear as the day what exactly had happened when the girls took the empty seats right next to Maximilian Kingsley Hoffmann and his crew.

As usual Ezra couldn't look away after she caught a glemse of him. He was the most handsome guy she had ever seen outside the magazines.

He was extremely tall with well built muscles and a deep piercing blues. Everything he does was captivating and mesmerizing to Ezra. Infact, he had been her crush since their  fresh man's year. She was lost as she admired her crush from afar until both her friends Elke and Linda nudge her the same time. She looked up to see Mr. Ekkehard was waiting for an answer from her. Linda whispered "He just said Mrs. Schmidt would like to see you in her office as soon as possible"  In her usual shy voice she responded "Yes Sir "

After the examination, she was telling her friends her ordeal as they went to the canteen for their break. Linda said angrily "That bus driver is an assh*" Elke was typing away as she added "I have just reported him. After investigations, I hope he gets what he deserves" Ezra as usual said "Elke, you shouldn't have bothered, like I always say, he will surely get his karma at the end of the day" Linda grabbed her as she teased "Come here  Madam preacher, Elke has some great news to share with us" As she was about to talk, Konrad came over to whisper something to her before kissing her on the lips. As he walked away, Ezra couldn't beleive her eyes.

Obsidian: He's hilarious. Like, actually. I loved it. You're writing style is great, although you could do with a few less murmurs and mutters. I know it sounds critical, but I have the same problem and I hate it. Overall, it was one of the best stories I've read on here so far. I liked it better than those M...
