CHAPTER ONE

AUROSA POV

Mirror,

Reflection is all I can see, an innocent-looking girl staring in the mirror.

“Princess, we are waiting”

“Sorry for the delay, I am ready”

Madam Pea has always been by my side. She is like a mother; a second mother.

She helps me on my feet while my yellow flowering long gown touches the floor.

“Today is your graduation. How do you feel?”

My heart explodes with joy. After ten years of studying, I will finally see the outside world.

“Enjoy the moment”

Madam Pea knew what I was about to say, my expression showed it all.

I pass through the corridor escorted by Madam Pea to our hall.

Seeing the other students bow to me while I walk to my seat makes me feel pressure.

From day one to this day, I have received Princess Treatments from the teachers, masters, juniors, seniors and my mates.

“Congratulation Princess Aurora, please come forward”

Claps echo inside my ear drums as I walk to the front.

Like what Madam Pea said, graduation is not the final farewell; it is the beginning of a new chapter. What will people know you for? It is a choice only you can decide.

The red stone shines through my eyes. I will be the light to my people.

These words make me understand my purpose as a Princess.

“Princess Aurosa is the overall best student in our generation”

“The red stone is beautiful, it suits her”

The red stone symbolizes passion, courage and strength. Only the best student can have it. It is all thanks to Madam Pea for pulling me up when I was down, unable to understand myself and my environment. I work hard with her advice every day with dedication and commitment to my studying.

***

Saying faraway to my teachers, masters and juniors makes me feel sad. My second home, which I spent my childhood in, trained into the woman I am today. I will keep their memories in my heart; I hope to meet them all again in the future.

“My blessing goes with you”

“Thank you, Madam Pea; I will miss you-all of you.” I choose to hide my emotions. I will carry the teachings with me into my new journey.

I glance at the mothers, future mothers before I enter my Palanquin.

I peep through my window to see them waving at me. The huge gate closes, seeing them no more.

Use your light to heal. That is how and when you can shine.

I have never used my ability; I was told it is Blue heart: the ability to heal without using medicine. We were not allowed to use our ability until we reached eighteen. We had to train our ability and skills to our full potential.

My skin feels the refreshing air coming through the window; it makes me feel sleepy, and my thoughts fade into my sleep.

My hand touches the soil to feel the texture, the sun burns through my skin as I run to take shelter. A body from nowhere jumps into my face, making me dodge; he is dead.

Fire arrows flow in front of me and hit some ladies to the ground, dead bodies everywhere.

Soldiers fight the fire arrows, but they are all consumed by it.

“Rosa” that voice! That is what my mother called me to keep our connection alive.

“Find your younger brother, escape from the palace”

I have a younger brother?

The fire arrows pierce into her chest, “Mother!!!” I scream as I reach out, “Please stay with me.”

“F-ind N-ico and leave the palace,” tears roll down, seeing my mother burn into aches.

My eyes went to Father’s body at the corner. I slowly find my way to him, “Father, please stay with me.”

“Aurosa, there is no time, save your brother and-“he pushes me and takes the shot.

“NO!” my voice reaches the sky.
