Chapter 1
I woke with a loud voice from my mouth. It was like screaming, but initially I felt like it was a dream. Am I really screaming now? I looked everywhere. Then I realized that I am in a moving train. I double-checked if someone was really looking at me after I screamed. Luckily, to my relief, no one was looking at me.
I was in the upper berth. When I looked downwards in that dim light, I saw a lady who had just onboarded and was trying to settle down with her belongings. She seemed to be least bothered by my scream. That gave me relief. It was a dream. Okay.
But at the same time, the scream sound which I heard within my body seemed to be so realistic. How could that happen? It was a scary dream. The scream which I heard during the dream seemed to be more realistic than the one which was produced when I was awake. That pulled me into a dilemma.
I was half asleep. That thought was weird. So what I heard in my dream, or in half-sleep mode, was not a dream — it was reality. And I definitely know this experience is going to last for some time, because the screaming sound which I heard was very, very scary.
I cannot tell if it was a man or a woman. I can now say it was an inhuman sound — so profound and very loud — asking for something, or for help, or just making me scared. I don’t know. But that is the reality. Sometimes you experience such things which you remember for a lifetime.
