Prolog
We had been driving for hours. My ass was numb and there was no end in sight to the vast forest that surrounded us. I didn't care. I was watching the tree line that was carefully maintained forty feet from the two lane highway. Suddenly I heard the Gps speak for the first time in five hours.
"Turn right in fifty feet Daddy." The sultry voice half moaned on que. I quickly covered my mouth to stifle my laughter as my dad began to fiddle with the GPS. He continued to fiddle with it as it continued to give instructions in increasingly sexual moans. Finally he muttered something under his breath as he barely made the turn and the GPS cried out in ecstasy. "Oh Daddy.... You know how to finish a girl." The GPS moaned
"Raven......... Did you do something to the GPS?" He asked suspiciously.
"No........" I barely managed to get the word out while biting my lower lip to keep from laughing hysterically.
"Well.......... In that case...... I think it's broken because I'm pretty sure it's coming on to me............ And I think it just orgasmed........." I finally lost all control and laughed so hard that I couldn't breathe.
"You did......... You did something to my GPS...... You little brat........."
"I'll fix it. I'll fix it......" I gasp for air. I promise to fix the GPS once we settle in fully to our new house.
I go back to staring out the window. The trees are right up against the narrow single lane road that winds through the mountains now, as if standing guard against any that dared to venture this far into the forest. A branch brushed against the window and I watched as it slowly slid across the rim of the truck bed in an almost loving caress, as if welcoming us home. The shadows of the forest were far from still, undulating and dancing in the gentle breeze. The very air seemed to hum with a power that was far beyond human comprehension. This was not a place for those who were more comfortable in civilized society.
Outcasts could hear the gentle whisper and promise of sanctuary on the wind that others would take as a warning to stay away. The piercing howls of wolves that resonated through the trees was a call to seek out the creatures that dwell within the forest and find solace and comfort within the isolation of this wild and untamable land.
