Chapter 1

Six months had elapsed. Robin and Sean sat at the kitchen table. Wedding magazines, color splotches, and notes sat in front of them. Easy listening music was playing in the background. “Will we be able to get the flowers on time?” Robin inquired.

“Stop worrying,” Sean said, kissing his cheek. “Our day will be unforgettable,” he stated. Robin sighed, attempting to calm down. “You’re right; I’m overreacting,” Robin conceded. Sean smiled warmly and gave Robin a sweet kiss on the lips. The stiffness in Robin’s shoulders relaxed, and he melted into the kiss. They wanted everything to be perfect for their tiny but intimate wedding, which was a month away.

As they continued to prepare, Robin focused on his dance. Hundreds of people had now witnessed Robin’s character, Phantom Phoenix. Since the announcement of the planned nuptials, comments have flooded the club’s website and social media pages.

Fan 1 says, “I can’t believe that. He is getting married.

Fan 2: “I’m so envious.”

Robin, seated on the living room couch, smiled as he scanned through the comments. Sean entered through the open front door. “Welcome home.” Robin raised his eyes and smiled. “How was your day?” he inquired.

“It was good, and I missed you.” Sean bent over to kiss Robin’s cheek.

“I missed you, too,” Robin replied.

They spent the evening cuddling on the couch and watching a weird show on television. Two days later, Robin’s phone rang as he was cleaning. Robin paused what he was doing and took the phone. He swiped the screen, and an email notice appeared.

Important—Come By—

I have some news that may interest you. Please come over.

Joshua - Moonbeam Lights

Robin wrote Sean a letter explaining everything, grabbed his keys, and walked out the door. He hailed a taxi and sat in the backseat, asking himself, “What does he want?” “Did something happen?” Once they arrived, he paid the driver and entered the club.

When Joshua entered the club’s office, he sat behind a mahogany desk. In a nearby corner sat a brunette woman who was fifty years old. “Thank you for coming, Robin,” Joshua said, urging Robin to sit. Robin sat in front of the desk. He looked across at the stranger. “This is Callie Warren,” Joshua remarked, pointing to the woman in the corner.

“So, you’re the famous dancer who took over the internet,” Callie said.

“I do my best,” Robin said, his cheeks burning up.

“You’ve got talent,” she said. “I’d like to help you get more exposure.”

“Exposure?” Robin inquired, puzzled. She nodded.

“I’m offering to help you go pro,” she said. “The decision is yours, though.”

The room fell silent as Robin bit his lower lip. “I need time to talk about it with my fiancé,” he explained, softly breathing. Callie nodded, indicating her comprehension. “That’s fine,” she replied. “Contact me when you decide,” she said, handing him her card. They both stood and shook hands. Robin looked down at the card after Callie left. The words “Twilight Entertainment” were highlighted in strong black letters.

“Do you realize what just happened?” Joshua exclaimed. Robin shrugged. “Robin, the owner of the most popular entertainment company, is looking for new talent and is interested in you,” he told him. Robin’s breath hitched, followed by a faint laugh.

A few hours later, Robin sat on the couch with the card on the coffee table in front of him. His head snapped up when the front door opened. “I’m home,” Sean exclaimed as he stepped inside. “Welcome home,” Robin said, smiling at him. “How was your day?” he inquired. It went nicely,” Sean said, kissing Robin’s cheek. “How about you?” he inquired. Robin inhaled gently and added, “I need to talk to you about something,” while biting his lip. “Robin, you’re scaring me,” Sean said, sitting alongside him. “What’s going on?” he inquired. With a trembling breath, Robin described the club meeting. “Are you saying that this person is offering you a professional dancing opportunity?” Sean exclaimed. Robin nodded and showed Sean the card.

The room was quiet save for the crackling of the fireplace. “Are you going to accept the offer?” Sean asked. “I’d like to,” Robin responded. Sean felt a “but” coming. “You are hesitating,” Sean noticed. “Why?” he inquired. “It’s a big step from dancing in a club,” Robin said. “What if I fail?” he inquired. “Robin, I believe in you,” Sean said. “It also means I might have to relocate or travel for gigs,” Robin explained. “What exactly are you afraid of?” Sean inquired, caressing Robin’s hands. A tear streamed down Robin’s cheek. “If I choose this, what will happen to us?” Robin whispered. Sean leaned forward and added, “There will always be a us,” in a soothing tone.

A week later, Robin and Sean sat together in front of Joshua. Callie Warren and her husband, Mark, sat nearby. “Thank you for contacting us,” Callie remarked. “This is my husband, Mark.” They shook hands. “This is Sean, my fiancé,” Robin responded. “We can move forward with plans after your wedding,” Mark said. “Now with your concerns about relocating,” Callie said. “We can find a place near our office,” she said. Robin released a nervous breath and looked down as Sean clasped his hand. “I understand that you have some health issues,” Mark said. “Yes, too much stress or overdoing things endangers my heart and lungs,” Robin told me. “We’ll keep that in mind,” Mark said.

Back at home that afternoon, Robin sighed loudly as he sat on the couch. “You did it,” Sean remarked, grinning. “I still can’t believe this is real,” Robin said. “It is real,” Sean said. “And your dream just became true,” he added. “My dream,” Robin muttered. “And we get to stay together,” Sean explained. They spent the remainder of the day celebrating with pizza, soda, and cheesy movies. Only a few individuals observed their wedding. Robin donned a white tuxedo with violet lapels. A wreath of white carnations enveloped him like a halo. Sean donned a black tuxedo with a purple flower in his breast pocket. Vows were said, and a passionate kiss was exchanged. “You are so beautiful,” Sean said quietly.
