Dr. Jewel A. Binns Jr. is a committed servant-leader who has devoted 19 years to his role as the pastor of Hendrix Memorial Church of God in Christ (COGIC). Beyond his pastoral responsibilities, he significantly contributes to the denomination as the financial officer for the Prescott District Fellowship. Dr. Binns experienced a transformative moment in January 1997 during a revival at Victory Temple COGIC, marking the beginning of his spiritual journey. Academically, Dr. Binns holds a PhD in Psychology with a specialization in Cognition and Instruction from Grand Canyon University, as well as a Master of Science in Criminal Justice from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. His scholarly work includes a dissertation titled “Homeless Women Sharing Stories Regarding Their Mental and Physical Challenges,” alongside several fictional works such as “Street Preacher,” “Making Things Right,” “Deer Hunting Season,” and “When Nothing Remains.” In addition to his pastoral and academic pursuits, he currently works as an insurance broker and content expert at Grand Canyon University. Dr. Binns has been happily married to Tasha Binns for 35 years, and together they have raised two children and are proud grandparents to two grandchildren. Their journey together has been enriched by the many blessings they attribute to God, which have had a profound impact on their lives.
