Unknown Horrors of Dark Waters

I could hardly contain my excitement as we drove to Sunny Cove Beach. The sun was warm on my skin, the sky was a perfect blue, and this weekend would be the best. My little brother was already running ahead, and I couldn't wait to join him by the water.
Sunny Cove Beach was just as beautiful as I'd imagined. The water of Lake Echoes sparkled under the sun, and the soft sand felt wonderful between my toes. We set up our spot, and I couldn't wait to get in the water.
Mom and Dad were busy setting up the picnic, so I took the opportunity to explore the shoreline. I picked up seashells, splashed in the shallow water, and laughed as my brother Blaise tried to catch tiny fish with his hands.
The day went by in a blissful blur. Around noon, I noticed something strange. The waves, usually gentle, began to grow larger. The sky, which had been clear all morning, began to cloud over. I looked around, and it seemed everyone else had noticed, too. There was a weird, almost eerie stillness in the air.
Then, the water started to pull back from the shore, way further than I'd ever seen it go. I was curious, maybe too curious. I walked onto the exposed lakebed, marvelling at how strange everything looked.
I could hear Mom and Dad calling for me, but the wind was picking up, and their voices sounded distant.
Suddenly, a massive wave appeared on the horizon, racing towards me. I'd never seen anything like it. It was gigantic, and it was coming fast. I tried to run back to the shore, but it was too late. The wave crashed over me with such force that it knocked me off my feet and pulled me under. The water was dark and powerful, tossing me around like a rag doll.
I couldn’t tell which way was up, and my lungs burned as I struggled to hold my breath. When I surfaced, gasping for air, I saw the beach in chaos. People were screaming, and debris was everywhere. I tried to swim, but the current was too strong. I was pulled under again; I sank deeper before everything turned cold, calm-
The End.
