INTRODUCTION
If you find yourself reading this, I am highly impressed since a lot of people (including myself) tend to skip right through this part of the book. I am also honored to let you know how I came up with this story concept so here we go:
When I was conceptualizing this story, I was ironically listening to the Taylor Swift: Eras Tour on my Spotify playlist. Although, it wasn’t the first time that I’ve had this idea, I have finally somehow made myself write it down and make it come to the story that you are holding in your grasp today.
Some of you may ask, why songs by Taylor Swift?
Honestly, I am also a huge fan and I find her songs perfect to be used in a musical setting. It is kind of comparable to how ABBA songs are used for the musical Mamma Mia!
I wrote this as a pseudo musical because as I was contemplating on how to write the story down, I didn’t know if I want to do it as a novel or like a musical script. I have written numerous stories before (albeit, they might not be very good) and I have tried writing scripts for school projects in the past. But, I wanted to find the best way to convey the story that I had in my head in the best way possible, while being able to insert the songs into the scenes like how a musical would. So I decided to take inspiration from Hunger Games and just write the story and try to seamlessly insert the songs into it.
It has been awhile since I have written anything. I’ve been more of a reader these past few years. Nevertheless, I hope you call enjoy this book even if you’re not a Taylor Swift fan. I’m also just a hopeless, sappy romantic so I hope you get sappy with me even it seems hard to be in this world today.
