Chapter 1: The Changing Seasons
As summer faded into autumn, the forest began to change. The leaves on the trees turned brilliant shades of red, orange, and gold, creating a colorful canopy that shimmered in the sunlight. A gentle, cool breeze swept through the woods, whispering secrets to the animals and birds alike.
The animals felt the change in the air. The squirrels gathered acorns, and the rabbits burrowed into their cozy holes. The fish in the river swam closer to the surface, sensing that colder days were coming. But it was the birds that noticed the most. Their singing grew quieter, and they started to prepare for a journey they had taken many times before.
High in the trees, the birds fluttered their wings and looked around. Some of them had flown south last year, but for others, this was their first time. They knew the cold months ahead would be difficult if they stayed in the same place. It was time to leave their home and find a warmer land where food was plentiful and the cold winds wouldn’t freeze their wings.
The forest was peaceful now, but soon, it would change forever. The great migration was about to begin.
