Chapter 1
“I will get you out of here!” screamed Alex as he punched the door of his car. After coming home from the movies, Alex and his sixteen year old twin sister Alexa were hit by a drunk driver.
“Why do you try? It is worthless,” said a green light that appeared.
“What?”
“You don’t have the strength, energy, or endurance to punch through that normally so what makes you think you can do it with a broken arm and a lot of lost blood.”
“I don’t care!” Alex yelled as he looked at the light with a determined expression, his blue eyes shining in the moonlight. “A man is as strong as his determination. Right now I am more determined to get her out of here than anything else.”
“Well put,” answered the light. “I am Dante of Determination and I wield the Sword of Determination. It will help you get out but it will come at a cost.”
“Anything to get her out of here.”
“Very well. Take this, the Sword of Determination.” Alex saw a flash of green light.
Afterward he found a gold bracelet with a green gem on his right hand. He touched the gem and out came a sword. The sword was green on the blade and gold on the hilt and crossguard.
The sword grew longer and Alex sliced the roof of the car. He kicked it off and grabbed his sister. Alex carried her out of the wreckage and set her down on the ground. He then walked over to Dante.
“Here’s your sword.”
“Keep it, it’s dangerous to go alone.”
“Thanks…” Alex said as he collapsed on the pavement.
“Sleep well my friend. You will need it,” Dante said as he disappeared in a flash. The last thing Alex heard was ambulances in the distance.
