Ghost In The Train
This story is about my friend Sameer who was travelling from Jaipur to Delhi by train. This was Sameer’s first time travelling from Jaipur to Delhi. Sameer bought the ticket and boarded the train. It was around 11 pm and there were very few people on the train. Sameer was also tired because he had been busy with office work the whole day.
An elderly man was sitting next to Sameer, he was around 60 years old. He looked very ill and had a blanket wrapped around his entire body. His hands and face were not visible because of the blanket. Sameer didn’t pay much attention to these things. He thought that it was still a 3 hour journey so why not sleep for a while. He slept for 2.5 hours and when he woke up he saw the same old man sitting in the same position.
Sameer then asked him why he was unable to sleep. And he replied, ”People like us can’t sleep.” His answer made Sameer wonder who this man was and where he had come from. Then Sameer’s attention was always on that old man. Now Delhi is about coming but the old man was not even moving from his place.
When the train stopped Sameer thought, “Let me expose this old man today.”
As soon as Sameer removed the blanket, the old man’s head was missing. Seeing this scene, Sameer’s hands and feet became cold and he started sweating. It seemed as if this was his last day. When he regained consciousness, he took his slippers in his hand and ran as fast as he could. After this day he never travelled by train.
