Chapter 1.Episode 1:when the rain found us
Naly’s POV
I wasn’t even supposed to be outside that evening. The rain came out of nowhere-heavy, impatient, loud against the pavement. I had asked for an Uber but my phone was blurry from the raindrops as I kept refreshing the app.
”Your uber is arriving in 6 minutes”
Six long minutes.
I was so caught up that I bumped into someone.
”Hey slow down”. She said.
Her voice –low calm and warm made my chest flutter in a way that had nothing to do with the cold.
I looked up.
…and for a second, I forgot about the rain, she wasn’t just beautiful-she was striking. The kind of person who didn’t need to say much to fill a space .her skin glistened under the streetlights, rain tracing lines down her jaw .A few curls clung to her forehead and the rest framed her face like they knew where to fall.
Her tank top was soaked, but she didn’t seem to care. And those eyes. Soft steady. The kind that feel like they’ve seen chaos before and somehow chose to be gentle anyway, if rain had a human form-calm, heavy and impossible to ignore –it would be her.
“I didn’t mean to-I just-“I stuttered.
She tilted her head, amused. “You okay? “
I nodded, maybe too fast.
“I’m fine just trying not to get too drenched “
her smile curved. “Then you picked the right shelter, “she said stepping aside so I could stand closer under her umbrella.
My uber notification buzzed, but for some reason I didn’t move right away.
”ehem I got to go my ride is here”.
She took a step forward, like she wanted to say something.
“I never got your name “she called out.
I closed the door.as the car pulled away. I turned to the window-the world outside blurred, and so did she. But her voice stayedRayes POV
She left too quickly.
one minute she was right there-soft voice, shy smile and the next, she was gone.
The uber door shut, and the sound echoed louder than it should’ve.
I called out, “I never got your name!”
but the rain swallowed my words before they reached her.
I stood there looking an idiot, umbrella half open, water soaking my sleeves.
Her car taillights blurred into red streaks against the wet road, fading until all I could see was my own reflection on the puddles.
Something about her felt unfinished-like a sentence I didn’t get to read to the end.
I don’t even know her name…
but the way she looked back through that window-yeah that’s going to stay with me.
