Chapter 1: The Accedental Message

It was a quiet Tuesday night, around 1 a.m. Riya had just finished her hair and skincare routine and slipped into her cozy bed. Outside, a gentle breeze carried the crisp, cool air of early autumn, making her room feel even more comforting.

She grabbed her phone to text her best friend, Aarohi. Quickly, she typed:

“Hey, have you seen Arjun today in that black shirt? Oh my god, he looked so handsome! But why isn’t he looking at me? It’s making me so frustrated.”

Satisfied, she hit send… and froze. Instead of Aarohi, the message had gone straight to Arjun.

Panic surged through her. She was about to delete it when she saw the blue “seen” bubble. Her mind went blank. In a mix of fear and disbelief, she tossed her phone into a fruit basket beside her bed.

Moments later, it buzzed. Her heart skipped a beat as she picked it up.

“Oh really? Was I looking that handsome? Thank you so much.”

Riya’s cheeks burned instantly. She wanted to explain, to justify herself, but the words wouldn’t come. Finally, she typed:

“Oh… sorry! I sent this by mistake. This message wasn’t for you. I’m so sorry for disturbing you.”

Arjun’s reply appeared almost immediately:

“Yeah, I understand. This seems like it was meant for Aarohi, right?”

Embarrassment surged again. She quickly typed:

“No! I—I wasn’t talking about you! I meant another Arjun!”

A brief pause. Then came his message:

“But today, the black shirt was only worn by BSc Section A students. And in that section, I’m the only Arjun. There’s no other Arjun.”

Her face turned crimson. She hurried to clarify:No, no, I mean outside college… not in the campus. Another Arjun!”

He seemed to notice how flustered she was and tried to ease her embarrassment.

“Okay, okay. Calm down, Rhea. I get it. No need to stress.”

Riya exhaled, feeling slightly calmer but still blushing.

Then his next message appeared — playful yet kind:

“It’s okay, no need to explain. Yeah, it wasn’t me you were talking about. I was just being playful, nothing else. Don’t panic.”

“Thank you… for understanding,” she typed, her fingers trembling slightly.

Their conversation slowed, drifting into softer, everyday chat.

“Have you had your dinner? It’s nearly 2 a.m. Are you a night owl?”

Riya chuckled softly.

“Okay… then good night. We have college tomorrow.”Riya could hardly contain herself. She was still in shock from the night’s events—the accidental message, the awkward explanations, and Arjun’s surprisingly playful responses. She needed to talk to someone, and there was only one person who could truly understand: her best friend, Aarohi.

Without thinking twice, she dialed Aarohi’s number.

“Riya? Is everything okay? It’s 1 a.m.!” Aarohi’s groggy voice came through the phone.

“I… I have to tell you everything! I can’t… I just… I sent a message to Arjun by mistake!” Riya blurted, her words tumbling out faster than she could control.

Aarohi laughed immediately, clearly amused. “Wait… what? You what? You sent him a message? The Arjun from Section A?”

“Yes! And… and he replied! And then it got… so awkward!” Riya groaned, covering her face with her hands.

Aarohi giggled. “Oh my god, Riya! You’re literally living every teenage romance story ever written! What did you even say?”

Riya took a deep breath and recounted the entire conversation—the initial panic, the accidental send, her flustered attempts to explain, and Arjun’s teasing responses.

Aarohi kept laughing, but there was warmth in her voice too. “Riya, I can’t believe this! He’s actually cute about it! And he’s being playful, not mean. This is… kind of perfect!”

“I know, right? But I was so embarrassed!” Riya admitted, still blushing.

Aarohi snorted. “Embarrassed? That’s the best part! You finally confessed—accidentally, sure—but still. And the way he handled it? Classic Arjun. I’m so proud of you.”

Riya laughed, feeling her nerves ease as she shared every detail. The conversation went on for a while, both of them laughing, teasing each other, and replaying the awkwardly adorable moments. For the first time that night, Riya felt like she could breathe again.

“Promise me you’ll tell me everything from now on, okay?” Aarohi said, her voice warm.

“I promise,” Riya said with a smile. “And thank you… for making me feel normal again.”

“Anytime, Riya. Now get some sleep, night owl. College tomorrow!”

They hung up, both smiling, and Riya felt a strange flutter in her heart. Even with all the embarrassment, something wonderful had begun.

Chapter 2: The corridor

The next day, college corridors buzzed with students moving between classes. Riya was walking with Aarohi, still replaying last night’s conversation in her mind, when she saw him—Arjun—coming from the opposite direction.

For a split second, time seemed to slow. Their eyes met.

Riya froze. And then, for the first time, they both smiled at each other—a small, knowing smile, almost shy, but full of something unspoken.

Riya felt her heart skip a beat. It wasn’t like before, when she had been the one looking, hoping, and unnoticed. This time… it was different. There was a spark, a connection, even in that brief glance. Her chest fluttered, a warm, dizzying feeling spreading through her.

Aarohi nudged her elbow, her grin mischievous. “Okay… spill. What just happened back there? You two literally smiled at each other! Do I need to start calling this the ‘Riya-Arjun saga’?”

Riya’s face burned. “Shh! Aarohi! Don’t embarrass me!”

Aarohi laughed, clearly delighted. “Embarrass you? No way! This is priceless! The girl who was obsessively staring at Arjun finally got noticed—and he smiled back! You’re glowing!”

Riya looked away, but her mind replayed that moment over and over—their eyes locking, the shared smile, the flutter in her chest. It felt different from anything she’d felt before.

For the first time, she didn’t feel invisible. And for the first time, she realized that maybe… Arjun had noticed her too.

The rest of the day passed in a blur of laughter and teasing. Aarohi didn’t miss a single chance to poke fun at Riya, and she couldn’t help but giggle at her best friend’s antics. By the time they returned to their room, both were exhausted but smiling, replaying the moments from the corridor — and Aarohi’s relentless teasing.

Later, after heading home, Riya slipped into her usual evening routine. Dance class was something she never compromised on — her passion, her escape. Today was no different. She went to class, poured her heart into every step, and left drenched in sweat yet invigorated, feeling alive with every beat of the music.

Dinner came afterward, and finally, she returned to her cozy room, collapsing onto her bed with a sigh of contentment.

Just as she was about to relax, a notification made her heart skip a beat. Arjun.

That same fluttering, racing feeling surged through her — butterflies in her stomach, pulse quickening. She opened the message to find it was about college work. He needed some details for one of his projects and had reached out to her for help.

Riya quickly checked the information, gathered her answers, and sent them off.

Almost immediately, a conversation began to unfold. It was casual at first — just project details and clarifications — but slowly, naturally, it started to drift into their familiar rhythm. Playful comments. Light teasing. Little jokes. The same kind of comfortable, heart-fluttering chat they’d started the night before.

Even amid her routine, her love for dance, and the everyday chaos of college life, Riya found herself smiling at her phone. Somehow, a simple project message had turned into the kind of conversation that made her day feel brighter, warmer… and more exciting than ever.

Chapter 3: Getting Closer

Days turned into weeks, and slowly, the bond between Riya and Arjun began to grow. What had started as an accidental message blossomed into a connection neither of them had expected.

In the college corridors, the brief eye contact and shy smiles evolved into casual greetings, playful waves, and even small handshakes. Each little interaction felt monumental to Riya — she, who had once searched for him unnoticed, now felt seen, acknowledged, and appreciated.

Their conversations, which had begun with carefully chosen words and awkward pauses, grew freer and more natural. They messaged each other at any time, for anything — classwork, projects, or just to share a random thought. The walls between them were falling, replaced by a warm familiarity.

On campus, they walked together effortlessly, laughed at jokes no one else would understand, and shared small moments that made their days brighter. Riya’s heart swelled with happiness — not just because of Arjun, but because their bond had grown so naturally, so comfortably, so beautifully.

She noticed how easy it had become to be herself around him, and seeing him genuinely happy in return filled her with a joy she hadn’t known she was missing. Every smile, every glance, every tiny interaction mattered.

It was more than the start of something romantic — it was the beginning of a deep, trusting friendship that promised something truly special.

As the months passed, Riya and Arjun’s bond deepened in ways neither of them had imagined. What had started as casual messages turned into long, easy conversations. Texts became calls — and soon, late-night calls became a part of their routine. They shared favorite songs, foods, colors, and even little quirks they’d never told anyone else.

Riya discovered that Arjun had a quiet fascination with astronomy, while he learned that her passion for dance wasn’t just a hobby — it was a part of her soul. They talked about dreams, goals, tiny victories, and daily struggles that only they seemed to understand.

Sometimes, late at night, Riya would stare at the stars and feel that maybe the universe itself was conspiring to bring them closer.

By the time they entered their third year of B.Tech, fate seemed to take a hand: they were placed in the same section. Joy bubbled in Riya’s chest as she realized they would now share not just classes, but a daily rhythm — studying together, passing notes, sitting side by side.

Aarohi, Riya’s thoughtful and considerate friend, noticed the growing closeness and was genuinely happy for them. She respected their privacy, always giving them the space to nurture their connection while quietly supporting their sweet, silent moments. Whether it was letting them sit together in the library or teasing them from afar, Aarohi became the kind of friend every story needs — observant, kind, and completely reliable.

Now, walking to class together, sharing meals, exchanging smiles and inside jokes, Riya felt a warmth that went deeper than crushes or fleeting excitement. It was trust, friendship, and affection all intertwined. Every day, every shared laugh, every late-night call seemed to weave them closer, as if the universe itself was quietly cheering them on.

Riya couldn’t help but smile. For the first time, being noticed didn’t feel accidental — it felt meant to be, like something she truly belonged to, something she wanted to protect.

Chapter 4: "You Look Beautiful"

The next day, one of their classmates invited everyone to her birthday party at her apartment.

Riya stood in front of her wardrobe, completely lost about what to wear. The choice felt impossible—she wanted something beautiful but not overdone, elegant yet still true to herself.

Aarohi arrived to help, of course. Together, they rummaged through clothes, tried on outfits, laughed at fashion disasters, and finally settled on a red wine–colored dress that suited Riya perfectly. It hugged her just right, flowing gently as she moved, highlighting her natural grace without losing her simplicity.

“You’ll steal the show in this, Riya,” Aarohi said, eyes twinkling with excitement.

The party began—laughter, music, and chatter filling the apartment. Arjun was waiting for Riya..his eyes were waiting for her in that crowd.

And then he saw her.

Riya, in that red wine dress, looked like she had stepped right out of a dream. The soft fabric, the way her hair framed her face, the stray baby hairs falling over her cheeks, the shy smile—it all hit him at once. His heart skipped a beat.It wasn’t just her beauty. It was her kindness, the calm warmth that radiated from her without even trying. Arjun felt it in that moment—something deep and real, something that went far beyond friendship.

Slowly, he made his way toward her, the noise of the party fading in his ears.

“You look… beautiful, Riya,” he said softly.

Her cheeks flushed. Sure, others had complimented her that evening, but there was something different about his words—his tone carried a sincerity that made her feel truly seen. A flutter rose in her chest, gentle and exhilarating all at once. The party buzzed on around them, but for the two of them, it felt like the world had slowed down. They shared quiet laughs, exchanged glances across the crowd, and stole tiny moments just for themselves.Later, Arjun's friends called him for some pictures and selfies. He looked into her eyes, smiled and said " I will be right back."

Riya looked at the stars from the window shimmered softly above, the moon spilling silver light into the room. Across the apartment, Arjun stood with his camera, capturing candid moments. But even as he clicked, his focus wasn’t on the people—it was on her.He spotted her by the window, bathed in moonlight, lost in thought. Without thinking, he followed that quiet pull and made his way toward the terrace.

“Riya,” he called softly.

She turned, her face lighting up with that innocent, radiant smile—the one that always disarmed him. The laughter and music from inside seemed to fade, leaving just the two of them under the open sky.For a long moment, neither spoke. A cold breeze swept past, making her shiver slightly.

Arjun noticed immediately."It's cold right"he said softly, slipping his blazer off and gently draping it over her shoulders.

Riya froze, heat rising to her cheeks. Her movie- fantasy heart was beating wildly. This was exactly the kind of romantic gesture she had imagined a thousand times, and yet, it felt even more real now. She murmured a small "Thank you."Then Riya whispered,

“I… I feel like I can tell you anything, Arjun.”

His lips curved into a gentle smile. “You can. Really. Anything.”

She hesitated for a second, then began to speak—about her dreams, her fears, her little insecurities. Things she had never voiced aloud. Arjun listened with quiet attention, his eyes steady, his responses soft and understanding. He shared his own thoughts in return—his doubts, his ambitions, the small struggles he never showed anyone.

The night air wrapped around them like a secret. Between laughter, teasing, and confessions, something unspoken took root—a connection deeper than friendship, stronger than either of them had expected.

When they finally returned to the party, their hearts were lighter. Their eyes met again, and this time, there was no mistaking it.Something had changed.

It wasn’t just comfort anymore.

It was connection.

Final Chapter: Infinity

As the weeks passed, Riya and Arjun grew even more comfortable with each other. They cherished their time together—walking to classes, sharing meals, laughing at little things, and simply enjoying the quiet presence of one another. Every moment felt effortless. Every conversation warm.

Soon, Riya’s birthday approached, and Arjun was practically bursting with excitement. It would be the first one they celebrated together, and he wanted it to be unforgettable. For weeks, he’d been secretly planning little surprises, gathering ideas, and finding ways to make her smile.

When the clock struck midnight, his message was the first one to arrive—long, heartfelt, and full of emotion. Riya read it again and again, her heart swelling with happiness.

The day went by in a blur of wishes and laughter. But the real celebration was that evening—a small, cozy party at her house with her closest friends. And of course, Arjun was invited. She wore a baby-pink dress, delicate and flowing, the perfect blend of grace and innocence. When Arjun saw her, he froze.

“You… you look like a Disney princess,” he whispered.

Riya blushed, smiling shyly. “You really think so?”

“I don’t think,” he said softly, “I know.”

The evening unfolded like a dream—laughter, soft music, fairy lights. Arjun stayed by her side, helping, teasing, admiring. Every shared glance carried the kind of magic that words could never capture.

Later, he handed her a bouquet of rare, delicate flowers—her favorites. Riya stared, stunned. “These… these are my favorite ones,” she whispered.

“I know,” he smiled gently. “I wanted theAfter the laughter and cake, Arjun handed Rhea a bouquet of flowers. Her eyes widened in surprise.

“These… these are my favorite flowers,” she whispered, taking in the delicate blooms. They weren’t ordinary—these were rare, exotic flowers, the kind that didn’t grow anywhere near their hometown. Her heart swelled at the thought and effort he had put into finding them. She felt seen, cherished, and deeply touched all at once.

“I wanted them to be special… like you,” Arjun said softly, watching her reaction.

Riya couldn’t help but smile, a blush spreading across her cheeks. “This… this is so thoughtful. Thank you, Arjun. Really.”

The evening continued with a family dinner and small celebration at her house. But Arjun had one more surprise planned, something he had been waiting to share all day.

“Riya, can you come with me for a moment?” he asked gently, eyes sparkling.

Curious, Riya agreed. She quickly changed into something comfortable, and after taking her parents’ permission, they stepped out together. The night air was cool and soft. Arjun’s bike was waiting, its engine humming quietly. The ride was perfect—the breeze, the faint rustle of leaves, the gentle moonlight painting everything silver. Riya felt like she had stepped into a movie, every detail magical, every heartbeat thrilling.

After some time, they arrived at a beach house near the shore, lights glowing softly, waves lapping gently against the sand. The sound of the ocean, the smell of salt in the air, and the serene green glow of surrounding trees made the setting to be as special as you.”

The sand glowed with heart-shaped lights. Soft music played in the background — Blue, their song. The world seemed to hold its breath.

Arjun took her hand, led her into the center of the glowing heart, and slowly dropped to one knee.

“Riya,” he began, his voice trembling, “the moment I first saw you, something inside me changed. Every day since then has been special because of you. Your smile, your kindness, the way you care — they’ve become my peace. My happiness.”

He looked up, eyes full of warmth. “I love you. I don’t ever want to imagine my days without you. Riya… will you be mine?”

Her breath hitched, tears glistening. “Yes,” she whispered, voice shaking. “Yes, Arjun.”

He stood, pulling her into a hug — their first, soft and full of emotion. It wasn’t just a hug; it was a promise.

When they finally pulled apart, Arjun revealed a small box. Inside was a delicate chain with an infinity locket.

“This,” he said, clasping it around her neck, “is for us. Because what we have… it’s infinite.”

Riya smiled through her tears, her heart full. Under the endless sky, with the waves as witnesses, their story truly began — not as a fairytale, but as something real, fragile, and endlessly beautiful.
