"This story begins as a beautiful, cozy fairy tale but eventually undergoes a sort of 'coming-of-age' transformation. As the plot unfolds, the writing style shifts from emotional to harsh and clinical, reflecting a loss of innocence. By the end, the world is shown in a grotesque, exaggerated light that highlights its vices so vividly you simply cannot look away. It brilliantly captures the transition from childhood wonder to adult cynicism. However, I am deducting a point because the motivations of the characters—aside from the grandmother—remain underdeveloped. Additionally, the protagonist lacks a distinct internal monologue or 'voice' of their own. In his head, it's mostly his grandmother and Hope who speak."
